The college is housed in an impressive 8-acre campus in the heart of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. From a student strength of 15 in 1959, the college has grown into a prestigious institution with a student force of 4,059 and a faculty strength of 185 teaching and 104 non-teaching, offering Graduate and select Post Graduate, Diploma and Certificate Courses. Since then the college h

as proved to be a trendsetter in academic development with a commitment to a value system and qualitative self-improvement. Accredited with 5 stars by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in the year 1999 and Reaccredited at the ‘A’ Level in the year 2006, it is the first autonomous college in the twin cities, affiliated to Osmania University, Andhra Pradesh. The University Grants Commission has identified the college as a ‘College with Potential for Excellence’ in the year 2004. The College has introduced Choice and Credit Based Semester System in the year 2005 as a positive step towards achieving parity with educational institutions elsewhere in the world. In keeping with the changing trends in the field of education at the global scenario, the college has also introduced Inter Disciplinary Electives (IDE) as an integral part of choice and Credit Based Semester System from June 2006.

The IQAC of St. Francis College for Women commemorated their Silver Jubilee with a National Seminar titled “From Compliance to Excellence: Reimagining the Quality Journey” on April 28, 2026.

The seminar was graced by the esteemed presence of Chief Guest Prof. V. Balakista Reddy and Guest of Honour Dr. Sr. Deepthi, General Secretary, Xavier Board for Higher Education. The event also featured distinguished resource persons, including Mr. Pankaj Bhagat, AI Trainer; Prof. Patrick, BoS Chairperson, Department of Commerce, PRO, Osmania University; and Prof. Uma Joseph, Principal, St. Francis College for Women.

The panel discussion was enriched by the valuable insights of Dr. Kanica Rakhra,Dr.Bheem, Dr. Veluthakkal Jayashree, and Mr. Radhakrishnan R.

As part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, IQAC Coordinators who played a pivotal role in steering the accreditation journey were felicitated in recognition of their significant contributions.
The participants were. IQAC coordinators, Deans and faculty from colleges across the country.
