Great delight to host Dr Jayaprakash Narayan IAS (Retd.), General Secretary, Foundation for Democratic Reforms, for the 110th WiseViews Leadership Conversation, scheduled on June 23 at 6.30pm
Dr Jayaprakash Narayan is a physician by training and served as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer for 16 years. He had a tremendously successful tenure and held many important positions in the government of Andhra Pradesh.
During the course of his service, he acquired deep insights into the Indian governance process and the problems afflicting the nation. Recognising the need for radical reforms, he left the civil services in 1996 and co-founded the Foundation for Democratic Reforms (FDR) and Lok Satta, a people's movement for governance reforms.
Dr. Narayan has received numerous accolades for his contributions to good governance, including the Rotary Manav Seva Award, Yudhvir Memorial Award, Dr. Rustam D. Ranji Rotary Award, D. Ch. Tirupathi Raju Memorial Award, Dr. Pinnamaneni Sita Devi Foundation Award, Bharat Asmita Jana Jagran Shreshta, and recognition from the Hyderabad Software Exporters Association for his contributions to the IT industry.
His expertise has also been sought at the national level, as he served on the National Advisory Council (NAC), the Vigilance Advisory Council, and the Second Administrative Reforms Commission.
