“Fort Of The Sun”.
One of the largest fort of India and perhaps the only one that have never been breached by any invaders!
It’s wall rises in places to a height of 120 feet and is 70 feet thick !!
Rudyard Kipling called it “the work of giants”.
Built in 1459 by Rao Jodha Rathore who founded the city of Jodhpur.
Mehrangarh means "Fort of the Sun". Sun was the Devata of Rathores as their claimed descent from Suryavamsha.
