PCM S.D. College for Women NCC Cadets Pay Stirring Tribute to Martyrs on Shaheedi Diwas

The NCC cadets of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, paid rich tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas, commemorating their supreme sacrifices for the nation.

Under the dynamic leadership of Colonel R. S. Lehal, Commanding Officer of 2 Punjab Girls Battalion, and the able guidance of Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar, the cadets organized a rally from the college campus to Bhagat Singh Chowk. The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation as cadets carried placards displaying powerful slogans highlighting patriotism, national unity, and the spirit of sacrifice.

On reaching the chowk, the cadets conducted a cleanliness drive and respectfully cleaned the statue of the martyrs along with the surrounding area. The site was further beautified with colourful rangoli designs, creating a solemn and inspiring atmosphere. The cadets also offered floral tributes to the martyrs, remembering the courage and selfless sacrifice of the young revolutionaries who laid down their lives for the freedom of the nation.

Through this initiative, the cadets conveyed a strong message to society that the freedom enjoyed today has been achieved through the immense sacrifices of brave freedom fighters. On this occasion, Sh. Surinder Saini, Secretary of Jalandhar Welfare Society, emphasized the responsibility of the younger generation to honour these sacrifices by upholding the values of patriotism, integrity, and national service.

President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar appreciated the efforts of Associate NCC Officer Captain Priya Mahajan for instilling patriotic fervour among the cadets and motivating them to actively participate in such meaningful initiatives. The Principal also lauded the dedication and discipline of the NCC cadets for successfully conveying a powerful message of gratitude and national pride, while urging students to remain committed to the nation’s progress and uphold the legacy of the martyrs.

PCM SD College for Women Marks 150 Years of Vande Mataram with Inspiring Patriotic Celebrations
The NCC Unit of PCM SD College for Women, under the guidance of ANO Captain Priya Mahajan, in collaboration with the Department of Fine Arts, organized a vibrant Painting Competition to commemorate 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram. The event honoured the historic moment when Bankimchandra Chatterji penned the timeless song on Akshaya Navami, 7 November 1875.
The competition, themed “2025: 150 Years of Vande Mataram”, encouraged students to depict nationalism, unity, and India’s cultural heritage through artistic expression. Participants beautifully illustrated Mother India, the freedom struggle, and the deep patriotic sentiments that the song has evoked for generations.
A stirring performance by the NCC cadets, who sang Vande Mataram in unison, filled the campus with pride and devotion. Under the mentorship of Captain Priya Mahajan, the cadets showcased exemplary discipline and patriotic spirit, paying tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and reaffirming the emotional power of the national song.

20 NCC cadets of 2 Punjab Girls Bnn, under the guidance of Captain Priya Mahajan, conducted a cleanliness drive at Jalandhar Railway Station. They not only cleaned the premises but also created colorful Swachhta ki Rangolis to inspire passengers to adopt hygienic practices and support the vision of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The cadets who actively participated included UO Komal, CQMS Anjali, Sgt. Neha, Sgt. Himani Mathpal, Cpl. Kajal Devi, Cdt. Mahima, L/Cpl. Vanshika, L/Cpl. Khushi Yadav, Cdt. Natasha, Cdt. The NCC Unit of PCM SD College, Jalandhar, celebrated Swachhotsav with great zeal and enthusiasm under the nationwide Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign. The event was organized under the dynamic leadership of Colonel R. S. Lehal, Commanding Officer of 2 Punjab Girls Battalion, and the able guidance of Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar.
The celebrations began with NCC cadets taking a solemn pledge to keep their surroundings clean and to motivate others in their families, neighborhoods, and social circles to adopt the same practice. The cadets also resolved to become torchbearers of cleanliness and responsible citizenship.
Under the leadership of ANO Captain Priya Mahajan, cadets showcased their creativity by preparing handmade dustbins from waste cartons. These eco-friendly dustbins were distributed among shopkeepers in the vicinity of the college campus, with an appeal to use them regularly and refrain from throwing garbage on the streets. This thoughtful gesture was warmly welcomed by the local shopkeepers and residents, who lauded the initiative of the young cadets.
To spread the message further, the cadets organized a rally around the college premises. Holding placards and raising slogans like “Swachhta Hi Sewa” and “Cleanliness is Everyone’s Duty”, they drew the attention of passersby and inspired them to actively participate in keeping the city clean. NCC Unit of PCM S.D. College Commemorates Shaheed Bhagat Singh Jayanti with Patriotic Zeal~

The NCC Unit of PCM SD College, Jalandhar, commemorated the birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh with deep reverence and patriotic fervor at Bhagat Singh Chowk, Jalandhar.

The program was organized to honor the legacy of the great revolutionary who laid down his life for the nation's freedom.

The cadets, led by ANO Captain Priya Mahajan, began the day by organizing a rally from PCM SD College to Bhagat Singh Chowk. With slogans echoing the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice, the rally attracted the attention of passersby and created an inspiring atmosphere in the city.

On reaching Bhagat Singh Chowk, the cadets paid a floral tribute to the immortal hero, expressing their heartfelt gratitude for his supreme sacrifice.

As part of ‘Swachhotsav’ under the ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’ Campaign, the cadets also undertook a cleanliness drive around the statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh. The area was cleaned and beautified, and the cadets further expressed their creativity by making a vibrant ‘Swachhta ki Rangoli’ near the statue, symbolizing the message of cleanliness and national pride. The heartfelt initiative received a warm response from the local residents and shopkeepers of Bhagat Singh Chowk, who spontaneously joined the cadets in paying tribute to the legendary freedom fighter. Along with the cadets, prominent members of Jalandhar’s trader–business community including Shri Ravindra Dhir (Founder Member, Traders Forum Jalandhar Metropolitan & State Convener, Sports Industry Association Punjab), Shri Vipin Prinja, Shri Arun Bajaj, Shri Yogesh Malhotra, Shri Rajendra Chatarth, Shri Ashok Chadda, and Shri Puneet Bhatia also joined in paying tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh. They lauded the efforts of the young cadets, not only for remembering Bhagat Singh with dignity but also for spreading awareness about cleanliness and civic responsibility.
