IIT Jammu successfully concluded the third batch of the On-the-Job Training (OJT) Internship Program for trainees from the National Skill Training Institute (NSTI), conducted from 12 May to 12 June 2026 under the MoU between the two institutions.

During the one-month internship, trainees gained hands-on experience across various administrative departments, developing practical skills and valuable workplace insights.

The successful completion of this initiative has further strengthened the collaboration between IIT Jammu and NSTI, leading to the extension of the MoU for the next two years.

IIT Jammu remains committed to promoting skill development and experiential learning through meaningful collaborative initiatives.

🏏 IIT Jammu & JKCA Conduct Fitness-cum-Fielding Camp for U-23 and Senior Women Cricketers

As part of a collaborative initiative between IIT Jammu and the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), a specialized Fitness-cum-Fielding Camp for U-23 and Senior Women cricketers was successfully conducted at the state-of-the-art sports facilities of IIT Jammu.

The camp focused on enhancing athletic performance through structured fitness assessments, agility and endurance training, speed drills, reaction exercises, and advanced fielding sessions. The programme provided players with a high-performance training environment aimed at improving physical conditioning, match readiness, and overall fielding standards.

This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of IIT Jammu and JKCA towards strengthening the sports ecosystem in the region and providing aspiring athletes with access to quality infrastructure and professional training opportunities.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from players and coaching staff, reinforcing the importance of scientific training and athlete development in modern cricket.

Curiosity found its spark at IIT Jammu as around 90 enthusiastic students from Classes 1 to 12, participating in the Summer Camp organised by Nagrota Military Station, visited the institute on 6 June 2026 for an educational exposure experience.

During the visit, the young learners explored the Physics laboratories at IIT Jammu and witnessed a series of engaging demonstrations conducted by faculty members and student volunteers. From lighting LED bulbs using bio-energy and pencil graphite to understanding the fundamentals of electrical conductivity and circuits, the students experienced science beyond textbooks. They also observed fascinating experiments related to electromagnetism and light, making complex scientific concepts both accessible and exciting.

The interactive sessions fostered curiosity, encouraged questions, and inspired the students to think critically and innovatively. Such outreach initiatives play an important role in nurturing scientific temperament and exposing young minds to the possibilities that research and higher education can offer.
