On the Occasion of Celebration of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav
Department Of Education, University of Jammu & The School of Education, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu Organises Drawing Competition on theme “Draw your favourite freedom fighter and honour their legacy (11th December, 2021)
The programme starts with a welcome address by Dr. Ana Bali and she also gave a brief introduction about the programme. Divya Sharma, a research scholar briefed everyone about Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. Dr. Kajal Devi Manhas presented the profile presentation of the chief guest Prof. Sudesh Mukhopadhyaya (Former Chairperson RCI). Chief guest Prof. Sudesh Mukhopadhyaya specified that all freedom fighters played a crucial role in making India free from the bondages of slavery. They are the pillars behind the freedom movement. The generations after them will always be indebted to them for their selfless sacrifices and hard work. After that Dr. Ana Bali invited all the presenters, who are the students of Department of Education, University Of Jammu and The School of Education, Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu to present their drawings. Riya Vaid (M.A. Sem-3) and Marzia (B.Ed. Bhaderwah Campus) presented the drawings of Mahatma Gandhi as their favourite leader; Avneet Kour (M.A. Sem-3),Kajal Bhagat (M.A.Sem-3), Raksha Devi (B.Ed. Bhaderwah Campus) and Madiya Mubeen (B.Ed. Bhaderwah Campus) presented their drawings on Rani Lakshmi Bai. Amarjeet Kotwal and Shravan Kumar (B.Ed. Bhaderwah Campus) were fond of Sardar Patel and displayed their fondness through their drawings. Arti Parihar (B.Ed. Bhaderwah Campus),Vaishali Mandla (M.Ed. Sem-3, Dept. Of Education) Vaishali and Mohd. Rafi (M.A Sem-3, Dept. Of Education) made a portrait of Subhash Chandra Bose. Nisha Kumari (M.Ed. Sem-3) presented the portrait and shared her views on Captain Laxmi Sehgal. Pooja Sharma and Prerna Sharma choose Jawaharlal Nehru as their favourite freedom fighter. Divya Sharma (Research Scholar, Dept. Of Education, University Of Jammu) presented her drawing on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Sachin Mahajan (M.A Sem-3, Dept. Of Education) and Ramni Sudha(B.Ed. Bhaderwah Campus) selected Chandra Shekhar Azad whereas Mehvish Mudeen (B.Ed. Bhaderwah Campus) selected Bhagat singh as their favourite freedom fighter. Samriti Sharma (M.A Sem-3, Dept. Of Education) opted to draw the picture of Lal Bahdur Shashtri whereas Nidhi Jamwal (M.Ed. Sem-3, Dept. Of Education) selected Shaheed Udham singh to celebrate their legacy as freedom fighters.
Prof. Sudesh Mukhopadhyaya was fascinated by the work and views of the students and highlighted the names of some other freedom fighters from varied regions of the country to celebrate them as well. Concluding Remarks were given by Prof. (Dr.) Renu Nanda, Head & Dean, Faculty of Education by highlighting the sacrifices done by our freedom fighters in igniting within us the spirit to fight injustice. At last Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Ana Bali wherein she thanked all participants, Research Scholars and Chief Guest heartedly for making this programme a success..
