An awareness session on drug abuse was organized at Government Middle School Dhateryal by the College Well-Being and Anti-Substance Abuse Cell of Government Degree College Marh with the objective of educating students about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a healthy lifestyle among the youth. The programme was conducted under the able guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college, whose continuous encouragement and support played a vital role in the successful organization of the event.

A Human Chain Campaign against substance abuse was organized at Government Degree College Marh by the College Well-Being and Anti-Substance Abuse Cell under the “100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Campaign.” The programme aimed to spread awareness among students and the local community about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and addiction-free life. Dated 16/05/2026 Awareness rally on Self –Enumeration, census 2027 at Govt Degree College Marh.
An awareness rally on the theme of Self-Enumeration for Census 2027 was conducted from Government Degree College Marh to village Dhateryal with the objective of educating students and the local community about the importance of participating in the upcoming Census 2027 through the self-enumeration process starting from May 17th -May 31st, 2026. The rally was conducted under the guidance of the college Principal Prof Ramneek Kaur and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, NCC and NSS volunteers. The rally commenced with a brief address by Dr. Ram Dayal Nodal Officer Self-Enumeration GDC Marh, who highlighted the significance of the national census and emphasized the role of citizens in providing accurate demographic information for effective planning and development. Carrying placards and banners displaying Census 2027 Count Yourself Shape the Nation, Census 2027 Jammu and Kashmir and chanting slogans such as “Ghar baithe Jaankari bharein, Rashtra Nirmaan mein Sahyog karein”, “Swa-ganana Apnao, Digital India ka Hissa ban Jao”, the participants marched through nearby areas to spread awareness among the general public. The rally aimed to encourage people to understand the digital self-enumeration process and actively cooperate with census authorities. Faculty members Ms Malti Rajput, Mr Ravi Kumar, Dr Shakun Sharma and Ms Surbhi Gupta interacted with the local residents and explained that self-enumeration would enable citizens to submit their census details online in a convenient and transparent manner and also informed them about the benefits of accurate census data in improving public services, infrastructure, education, and healthcare facilities. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Nodal Officer Dr Ram Dayal, who appreciated the active involvement of all participants and reiterated the importance of public awareness in ensuring the success of Census 2027. The rally proved to be informative, impactful, and successful in promoting civic responsibility among students and the community.

An anti-drug awareness rally was conducted from Government Degree College Marh to Village Dhateryal as part of the “100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign. The initiative was aimed at creating awareness among the rural population and encouraging collective efforts towards a drug-free society.
Students enthusiastically participated in the rally by carrying placards and raising slogans highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse and the need for a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. NCC cadets and NSS volunteers also took active part in the programme.Faculty members including Dr. Ram Dayal, Malti Rajput, Sachin Bhagat, Shakun Sharma, Ravi Kumar, and Surbhi Gupta were present during the event.
The rally was organised by the College Well-being and Anti-Substance Abuse Cell in collaboration with the Department of Sociology under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college.
The programme concluded with a pledge taken by the students to contribute towards building a healthier and addiction-free society.

A skit on the theme drug abuse and its impact on the society was presented by the students of the school. The Self Enumeration Awareness Committee of Government Degree College Marh organized a Seminar on the topic “Digital Self-Enumeration: A Step Towards Awareness of Student Ambassadors for Census 2027.” The programme was organized by Self- Enumeration Awareness Committee with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding the importance of self-enumeration in Census 2027 and encouraging active public participation in the national census process. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Ram Dayal, Ms. Malti Rajput, Mr. Sachin Kumar Bhagat, NSS PO, Ms. Anjana Chib, and Mr. Ravi Kumar. Dr Ram Dayal deliberated upon the significance of digital literacy, transparency, accuracy in data collection, public cooperation, and the role of technology in making the census process more accessible, inclusive, and efficient. Faculty also sensitized students about challenges such as the digital divide, internet accessibility, and the need for awareness among rural populations. Students participated enthusiastically in the seminar. The participating students included Neelakshi, Tarun, Ridhu, Sibul Ansari, Shivansh, and Kunal, who actively shared their views regarding the implementation and awareness of digital self-enumeration. The seminar served as an informative platform for students to understand the importance of census data in policy formulation, developmental planning, and socio-economic governance. The programme significantly contributed towards enhancing awareness, communication skills, and civic responsibility among students. A powerful Nukkad Natak on the theme “Drug-Free Society” was showcased at Government Degree College Marh in collaboration with Pamposh Balwadi School Marh.
The programme was organised under the supervision of Prof. Ramneek Kaur by the College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell and the Department of Sociology of the college.
A total of 23 students from Pamposh Balwadi School Marh enthusiastically presented the nukkad natak, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the need to build a healthy, addiction-free society. Through impactful dialogues and energetic performances, the students effectively conveyed a strong social message against substance abuse.
The audience included students and staff members of Government Degree College Marh and Government Middle School Dhateryal, who appreciated the efforts and performances of the young participants. The programme served as an important initiative to encourage awareness and collective responsibility towards creating a drug-free society.

Government Degree College Marh organized an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to promote a drug-free society. As a part of the initiative, an informative video highlighting the harmful effects of substance abuse was screened for students. A pledge ceremony against substance abuse was also conducted during the Semester-End Examination of Semester IV to spread awareness about the dangers of drug addiction.
The programme was organized by College Wellbeing and Anti-Substance Cell, in collaboration with the Department of Sociology, under the guidance of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the College. The programme witnessed active participation from students and staff members, reflecting their commitment towards creating a healthy, aware, and drug-free environment.
