✍️Government Polytechnic for Women, Jammu, celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from the Principal, faculty members, staff, and students. The event was organized with the objective of promoting the importance of yoga as a means to achieve physical fitness, mental well-being, and a balanced lifestyle.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to all participants, followed by a brief address highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day and the role of yoga in fostering holistic health. The Principal, Er. Neelanjana Manwati, encouraged students to incorporate yoga into their daily routine to lead healthier, more disciplined, and stress-free lives. She emphasized that regular practice of yoga not only enhances physical strength and flexibility but also improves concentration, emotional stability, and overall quality of life.
A series of yoga asanas and breathing exercises were performed under expert guidance, with enthusiastic participation from the Principal, faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students. The session created an atmosphere of positivity, harmony, and mindfulness, reinforcing the message of wellness through yoga.
The event was successfully coordinated by Ms. Banti Devi, Physical Education Teacher (PET), and Ms. Bhawna Arora, Lecturer, Textile Department, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the programme. Their meticulous planning and guidance encouraged wholehearted participation and contributed significantly to the success of the celebration.
