Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal, Jammu, organized the Lamp Lighting and Oath Ceremony on 2nd June 2026 with great enthusiasm and solemnity.

The ceremony marked an important milestone in the lives of the nursing students as they formally entered the noble profession of nursing.

The programme was graced by Dr. Sanjogita Soodan, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Super Speciality Hospital, Jammu, as the Chief Guest. The event was also honoured by the presence of Mr. M. S. Katoch, Chairman, Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Mr. Abhimanyu Katoch MD RGCN, Mr. Ayush Katoch Director Kawa Renewable Energy along with Mrs. Anjana Bavouria, Director, Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing.

The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Tariq Ahmed, Prof cm Vice-Principal , RGCN, who warmly welcomed all guests, faculty members and Students.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lamp lighting, symbolizing the light of knowledge, compassion, and selfless service inspired by Florence Nightingale.

The Nursing Students then took the Professional Oath Recitation by Mr. Govind Pareek Associate Professor, Pledging to uphold the Ethics, Values, and Responsibilities of the Nursing Profession with Dedication and Integrity.

The Dignitaries addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to serve Humanity with Commitment, Empathy, and Professionalism.

Their inspiring words motivated the students to strive for excellence in patient care and contribute positively to the Healthcare System.

The Programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Mr. Rahul Chidda Nursing Tutor, expressing gratitude to the distinguished Guests, Faculty members, Students, and Organizers for making the event a Memorable and Successful Occasion.

Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing celebrated International Nurses Day on 12 May 2026 with great enthusiasm and zeal in the college auditorium. The programme commenced with a warm bouquet presentation to the dignitaries.

The ceremonial lamp lighting was conducted by the respected Chairman Sir Mr. M.S. Katoch, Managing Director Mr. Abhimanyu Katoch, and Director Mrs. Anjana Bavouria, marking the auspicious beginning of the event.

Following the lamp lighting ceremony, the students of 5th Semester B.Sc. Nursing presented a devotional Ganesh Vandana, creating a spiritual and graceful atmosphere. After the performance, the theme of International Nurses Day was officially revealed by Mr. M.S. Katoch. The theme for the celebration was:

“Our Nurses, Our Future – Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

The cultural segment continued with an energetic Punjabi dance performance by the students of 3rd Semester B.Sc. Nursing, which was highly appreciated by the audience.

Prof. Tariq Dev delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance, dedication, and contribution of nurses in society and healthcare services. Thereafter, the respected Chairman Sir addressed the students and faculty members, motivating them with his valuable words and encouraging the future nurses to serve humanity with compassion and commitment.

The programme also included prize and certificate distribution for various games and events conducted during the Nurses Week. Students actively participated in different house activities with great sportsmanship and enthusiasm. In the final results, Red House emerged as the Winner, while Green House secured the position of Runner-Up.

The celebration concluded on a joyful and memorable note, honoring the tireless efforts and noble service of nurses in society.

As part of academics, B.Sc.Nursing 7th & 5th Semesters, GNM 3rd year,visited Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital, a NABH-accredited tertiary care hospital under Narayana Health.

Students explored ICUs, specialized departments, and advanced technologies like MRI and dialysis while observing skilled nursing care and efficient HMIS systems.

The visit highlighted the advantages of corporate hospitals—advanced infrastructure, better facilities, and faster services.

Overall, it is an insightful experience in modern healthcare and Nursing practice.
Mr Govind pareek (Associate Professor RGCN, Ms.Sunali Bhagat Tutor RGCN, Ms. Sakshi Sharma CI RGCN also accompany with students.

An Anti-Ragging Awareness Program was conducted at Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Chak Bhalwal, to promote respect, unity, and a safe learning environment.

The program was graced by the presence of Chairman Mr. M.S. Katoch, Mr. Abhimanyu Katoch (MD, RGCN), and Mrs. Anjana Bavouria (Director) and faculty RGCN.

The session was addressed by guest speaker Mr. Rajesh Verma (SHO, Gharota), who highlighted the legal consequences of ragging and encouraged students to report incidents without fear.

Chairman RGCN (Mr. M.S. Katoch) emphasized mentorship and mutual respect among students.

The event concluded with a felicitation of the guest speaker, reaffirming the institution’s zero tolerance policy towards ragging.

It was organized by Associate Professor Mr. Govind Pareek, Convener of the Anti-Ragging Committee, along with committee members and students of M.Sc. Nursing 2nd year and B.Sc. Nursing 5th semester, RGCN.

Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing celebrated International Women’s Day on 14th March 2026 with great enthusiasm.

The program began with a welcome address by Mrs. Anjana Bavouria, Director RGCN. Hon’ble Chairman Mr. M. S. Katoch encouraged students to uphold
compassion and dedication in nursing.

The Chief Guest Dr. Jyoti K. Bagal, CMO SMGS Hospital, and Guest of Honor Inspector Shakti Sharma, SHO City Police Station Jammu, shared inspiring thoughts on women empowerment.

The event included lamp lighting, Saraswati Vandana, student skit, cultural dances, card exchange, cake cutting, and Women’s Anthem.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Sheetal Manhas, Assistant Professor RGCN, followed by lunch. ✨
