The Eco Club for Mission LiFE (EEP), Sadhu Ramchand Murmu University of Jhargram successfully organized a Health Awareness Campaign on 14 March 2026 at Salboni Nimna Buniyadi Vidyalaya.
More than 50 students and teachers of Salboni Nimna Buniyadi Vidyalaya, and university representative actively participated in the programme. The campaign focused on promoting health awareness, personal hygiene, balanced diet, and healthy lifestyle practices among primary school children.
During the programme, students from the Department of Nutrition and Public Health conducted basic health assessments, including measurement of height, weight, age, and Mid Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) to understand the nutritional condition of the children through BMI analysis.
A very informative health awareness session was delivered by Ms. Alo Dey, Resource Person, Department of Nutrition and Public Health, highlighting the importance of healthy food habits, fruits and vegetables, clean drinking water, and regular physical activity.
Interactive placards such as “Eat Healthy, Stay Healthy” and “Clean Hands, Healthy Life” were used to make the awareness session engaging for the children. Fresh fruits were also distributed among the students to encourage healthy eating habits.
This initiative strengthened the connection between the University and the local community and provided valuable field learning experience for University students while promoting health and nutrition awareness among rural school children.
