The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur hosts PhD programs under three major domains namely; Thermofluids, Design, and Advanced Manufacturing with Exposure in emerging areas such as Smart manufacturing, Additive manufacturing, Ultra-precision finishing, Weld cracking, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning, Smart Healthcare, Nano-sensors, Multi-phase flows, Fluid-structure interactions, High speed flows, Hydrogen energy, Gas turbines, Vibration and acoustics, Robotics and automation, Computational solid and fracture mechanics.

Congratulations to Ms. Amrita Sharma on receiving the prestigious India Institute Fellowship Scheme for the academic year 2023–2024. The scheme supports her 6 months visit to the University of Birmingham under Professor Yongliang Li.

Ms. Amrita Sharma is currently working towards earning her doctoral degree in the rapidly developing subject of latent thermal energy storage systems, which have garnered recognition
on a global scale.
