On May 24, 2025, Dept. of Psychiatry, JMCH observed World Schizophrenia Day to raise awareness, reduce stigma & address myths related to it. A video was displayed which was made by the department. pamphlets were distributed and patients & attendants spoke openly, making the session interactive

Today on 20th January 2025, at JMCH, Department of Surgery and Neurosurgery in collaboration with Jorhat Branch of Assam State Chapter of Association of Surgeons of India organised a public awareness camp on 'Road Safety and Traffic Rules' as part of the initiative of the Govt for observance of "National Road Safety Month". The program was conducted in the OPD Complex of JMCH, inaugurated by the Principal cm Chief Superintendent Dr Prof Saurabh Borkotoki, Superintendent Dr. Manab Jyoti Gohain, Dr Chandra Bora (Chairman of Jorhat Branch of Assam State Chapter ASI), Dr Pulakananda Bharali (Deputy Superintendent) and other faculties, staffs and students of JMCH. The program was coordinated by Dr Amrit Kumar Saikia, Neurosurgeon, JMCH, and consisted of Street Play and display of play cards.

Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India celebrates "National Pharmacovigilance Week" every year under the aegis of Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI). This year PvPI observed 4th National Pharmacovigilance Week(NPW) from 17th to 23rd September, 2024.
As a part of the celebrations, Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre (AMC), Department of Pharmacology, JMCH has featured a variety of engaging events designed to raise awareness about medication safety. Activities included quiz and e-poster competition that showcased the importance of pharmacovigilance (PV), while skit play illustrated real-life scenarios related to adverse drug reactions (ADR). Nurses participated in sensitization sessions to enhance their understanding of ADR reporting protocols, and public awareness campaigns were conducted to educate the community on the significance of PV and ADR reporting. While intern doctors and PGTs actively engaged in reporting ADRs, highlighting their crucial role in patient safety. Additionally, awareness initiatives were extended to the Ayush Pharmacy Institute and School of Pharmacy Kaziranga University, promoting a community-wide understanding of pharmacovigilance and its significance in patient safety.
