Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of India celebrates "National Pharmacovigilance Week" every year under the aegis of Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI). This year PvPI observed 4th National Pharmacovigilance Week(NPW) from 17th to 23rd September, 2024.
As a part of the celebrations, Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre (AMC), Department of Pharmacology, JMCH has featured a variety of engaging events designed to raise awareness about medication safety. Activities included quiz and e-poster competition that showcased the importance of pharmacovigilance (PV), while skit play illustrated real-life scenarios related to adverse drug reactions (ADR). Nurses participated in sensitization sessions to enhance their understanding of ADR reporting protocols, and public awareness campaigns were conducted to educate the community on the significance of PV and ADR reporting. While intern doctors and PGTs actively engaged in reporting ADRs, highlighting their crucial role in patient safety. Additionally, awareness initiatives were extended to the Ayush Pharmacy Institute and School of Pharmacy Kaziranga University, promoting a community-wide understanding of pharmacovigilance and its significance in patient safety.
