On 10th February 2026, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, Kakojan College, organized an Alumni Lecture Series, creating a platform for academic exchange and inspiration. The event featured Md. Iftikar Hussain, a distinguished alumnus of the Department of Chemistry and currently a Research Scholar at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, as the resource person.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Rashmi Rekha Saikia, Principal of Kakojan College, who highlighted the importance of such academic interactions in bridging the gap between current students and research professionals. She emphasized the role of alumni in motivating students and enriching the learning environment.

Md. Iftikar Hussain delivered an insightful and engaging lecture on “NMR Spectroscopy and Their Application.” He explained the fundamental principles of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, its instrumentation, and its significance in modern chemical research.

On February 9, 2026, ICGC and IQAC, Kakojan College, in collaboration with Assam Kazirnaga University, hosted a seminar on "Presentation Skills" at Kakojan College premises. The institution has been deeply honored by the deliberation of esteemed speaker Prof. Bibhas Basumatary, Dean, School of Business, Kaziranga University. The seminar's goal was to improve the B.A. and B.Sc. sixth-semester students' Presentation Skills for their future. A lively interaction marked the programme’s conclusion, with over fifty students from varied Departments taking part. Honorable Principal Dr. Rashmi Rekha Saikia, Vice-Principal Dr. Khirod Saikia, IQAC Coordinator Mr. L. P. Nirmolia, all ICGC members, teachers, and students who helped make the event a success have been thanked.

A heartfelt farewell meeting was organized on 7th February 2026 to honor Mrs. Dipti Tamuli, Head of the Department of Sociology, Kakojan College, who retired from her service on 31st December 2025. The event was jointly organized by the Kakojan College authority, Teachers’ Unit, and the office staff, and was held with great respect and emotion.
The farewell was not just a goodbye, but a celebration of a remarkable career and a legacy that will continue to inspire the Kakojan College community.

A skill awareness meeting was held at Kakojan College, Jorhat, Assam on 06-02-2026 as part of the Skill Yatra programme launched by Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) .The programme aims to enhance skills and potentialities of students, meeting the growing need for skilled workers globally.
Principal of Kakojan College, Dr. Rashmi Rekha Saikia, inaugurated the programme and urged students to undergo training in professions of their interest, highlighting the importance of skill education .She emphasized that skill development is key to employability and growth.

Kakojan College, Jorhat, Assam, in collaboration with UGC-MMTTC, Gauhati University, successfully concluded a two-week Interdisciplinary Refresher Course on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in the context of Higher Education . The program, held from January 19th to February 4th, 2026, brought together a diverse group of participants and resource persons from across the country.

The course witnessed an overwhelming response, with a total of 203 participants registering for the program. Over the course of two weeks, 26 esteemed resource persons shared their expertise and insights on various aspects of IKS, enriching the knowledge and understanding of the participants .
The collaborative effort between Kakojan College and UGC-MMTTC, Gauhati University, aimed to promote interdisciplinary learning and explore the relevance of IKS in modern higher education. The program featured a range of sessions, including lectures, discussions, and interactive activities, providing a comprehensive platform for participants to engage with the subject matter .
The successful completion of the refresher course marks a significant milestone in the efforts to integrate Indian Knowledge System into higher education, and the organizers look forward to building on this momentum in future initiatives .

Congratulations🎉🎉 to the College March-Past Teams for their outstanding performance and achieving the Second Team Award (NCC 2nd- 3rd Year Group) and 3rd Best Team Award (NCC 1st Year Group) in the Parade competition held at Kakojan Playground on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day celebration organized by Teok Co-district Administration. This is a fantastic achievement that reflects their hard work, dedication, and teamwork.

A lecture programme on “Mental Health Issues and Its Prevention” was organized on 19 December 2025 at the premises of Kakojan College by the Psychological Cell, in collaboration with the IQAC, Kakojan College. Under the guidance and advice of the Hon’ble Principal, Dr. Rashmi Rekha Saikia, the programme was successfully hosted by the institution.
Dr. Nibedita Gogoi, Convener of the Psychological Cell, initiated the session and introduced Mr. Dhurbojyoti Bailung, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, Kakojan College, as the Resource Person for the day. In his lecture, Mr. Bailung addressed various crucial aspects of mental health, including the causes of mental stress, common mental health issues, preventive measures, health care strategies, and effective stress management techniques. He also emphasized the significance of maintaining good mental health, particularly among students.
The programme was attended by Mr. Lakhya Protim Nirmolia, Coordinator, IQAC, along with faculty members and students of the college. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Anita Das, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Kakojan College.

, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT)* in collaboration with *Kakojan College* organized a special *Cybersecurity Awareness Program* on the college campus.

The event kicked off with a warm *welcome address* by *Principal Dr. Rashmi Rekha Saikia*, who set the tone by highlighting the importance of digital safety in today’s world.

Following her, *Mr. Jyotirmoy Deka*, IT Faculty from NIELIT, delivered the *keynote address*. He shared insightful perspectives on emerging cyber threats and practical measures to combat them, keeping the audience deeply engaged.

*Assistant Professor Pallab Pran Borah* then honored Mr. Deka by presenting him a traditional Assamese gamosa.

The proceedings were smoothly anchored by Assistant Professor Utpal Sadhonider.
Dhrubajyoti Bailung concluded the event with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to NIELIT, the resource persons, faculty, and the enthusiastic student participants.

We are pleased to invite academicians, faculty members, and researchers to participate in a two-week Online Refresher Course (RC) on ‘Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) in the Context of Higher Education’, organized by ‘Kakojan College’ in collaboration with the “Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC)”, Gauhati University, Assam. The course will be conducted from “19th January to 4th February 2026”. This programme aims to revive, explore, and integrate the profound heritage of Indian Knowledge Systems within modern education and research frameworks.
Participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded an “e-certificate” issued by ‘MMTTC, Gauhati University’.
