কাকজান মহাবিদ্যালয়ৰ আভ্যন্তৰীণ গুণগত মান নিশ্চিতকৰণ কোষ (IQAC)-ৰ উদ্যোগত, মহাবিদ্যালয়ৰ প্ৰাক্তন ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰী মঞ্চ আৰু ভাৰতীয় জ্ঞান পৰম্পৰা (Indian Knowledge Systems—IKS) কোষৰ সহযোগত আজি মহাবিদ্যালয়ৰ প্ৰেক্ষাগৃহত **‘মুখ্যেশ্বৰ শইকীয়া স্মাৰক বক্তৃতানুষ্ঠান’** সুকলমে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। কাকজান মহাবিদ্যালয়ৰ সৈতে ওতপ্ৰোতভাৱে জড়িত এগৰাকী নিষ্ঠাৱান প্ৰাক্তন ছাত্ৰ, শিক্ষানুৰাগী আৰু সমাজ-সংস্কৃতিৰ প্ৰতি দায়বদ্ধ ব্যক্তি হিচাপে প্ৰয়াত মুখ্যেশ্বৰ শইকীয়াৰ অৱদানক স্মৰণ আৰু নতুন প্ৰজন্মৰ মাজত তেওঁৰ আদৰ্শৰ পৰিচয় দাঙি ধৰাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে এই স্মাৰক বক্তৃতানুষ্ঠানৰ আয়োজন কৰা হয়।
উল্লেখযোগ্য যে, **১৯৬৭ চনত কাকজান মহাবিদ্যালয় প্ৰতিষ্ঠা হোৱা সময়ছোৱাত মহাবিদ্যালয়ৰ ছাত্ৰ হিচাপে অধ্যয়ন কৰা মুখ্যেশ্বৰ শইকীয়া** পৰৱৰ্তী সময়ত মহাবিদ্যালয়খনৰ প্ৰাক্তন ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰী মঞ্চৰ প্ৰতিষ্ঠাপক সভাপতি হিচাপে দায়িত্ব পালন কৰাৰ লগতে শ্ৰীমন্ত শঙ্কৰদেৱ সংঘৰো বিভিন্ন গুৰুত্বপূৰ্ণ দায়িত্বত অধিষ্ঠিত হৈছিল। শিক্ষা, সমাজ, সংস্কৃতি আৰু শংকৰী চিন্তা-চৰ্চাৰ ক্ষেত্ৰখনলৈ তেওঁৰ অৱদান আৰু মহাবিদ্যালয়খনৰ সৈতে থকা গভীৰ সম্পৰ্কৰ প্ৰতি সন্মান জনাই তেওঁৰ স্মৃতি যুগমীয়া কৰাৰ লক্ষ্যৰে এই বক্তৃতানুষ্ঠানৰ আয়োজন কৰা হয়।
অনুষ্ঠানত মুখ্য বক্তা হিচাপে উপস্থিত থাকি **অসম কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ৰ অৱসৰপ্ৰাপ্ত ডীন, বিশিষ্ট শংকৰী গৱেষক আৰু সাহিত্যিক ড॰ ৰাতুল চন্দ্ৰ বৰাই** **‘শ্ৰীমন্ত শঙ্কৰদেৱৰ মানৱতাবাদী দৰ্শন’** শীৰ্ষক এক মননশীল আৰু তথ্যসমৃদ্ধ বক্তৃতা প্ৰদান কৰে। বক্তৃতাত ড॰ বৰাই শ্ৰীমন্ত শঙ্কৰদেৱৰ দৰ্শনৰ কেন্দ্ৰবিন্দু হিচাপে মানৱতাবোধৰ গুৰুত্ব ব্যাখ্যা কৰে। তেওঁৰ মতে, শঙ্কৰদেৱৰ চিন্তা, কৰ্ম আৰু সৃষ্টিৰ মূল আধাৰ আছিল মানুহ আৰু সমাজ। সমাজৰ সৰ্বাংগীণ উত্তৰণৰ বাবে গুৰুজনাই ধৰ্মীয় চিন্তাৰ লগতে সাহিত্য, ভাষা, সংস্কৃতি, সংগীত, নাট্যকলা, চিত্ৰকলা আদি বিভিন্ন সৃষ্টিশীল মাধ্যমক ব্যৱহাৰ কৰি এক সুস্থ, সুন্দৰ আৰু পৰিশীলিত সমাজ গঠনৰ প্ৰয়াস কৰিছিল।
বক্তৃতাত ড॰ বৰাই শঙ্কৰদেৱৰ মানৱতাবাদ কোনো সংকীৰ্ণ ধৰ্মীয় পৰিসৰত সীমাবদ্ধ নথকাৰ কথা উল্লেখ কৰি কয় যে, তেওঁৰ চিন্তাধাৰাত মানুহৰ মাজত সমতা, ভ্ৰাতৃত্ববোধ, সহিষ্ণুতা, সহমৰ্মিতা আৰু সামাজিক সংহতি প্ৰতিষ্ঠাৰ এক গভীৰ আহ্বান নিহিত হৈ আছে। সমাজত সৃষ্টি হোৱা বিভাজন, বৈষম্য আৰু সাংস্কৃতিক সংকটৰ পৰা মানুহক উদ্ধাৰ কৰি এক ন্যায়সংগত আৰু মানৱীয় সমাজ গঢ়ি তোলাৰ প্ৰয়াসৰ সৈতে শঙ্কৰদেৱৰ মানৱতাবাদী দৰ্শন গভীৰভাৱে সম্পৰ্কিত। বৰ্তমান সময়তো শঙ্কৰদেৱৰ এই মানৱতাবাদী চিন্তা সমাজৰ বাবে সমানেই প্ৰাসংগিক বুলি তেওঁ উল্লেখ কৰে।
অনুষ্ঠানৰ আৰম্ভণিতে কাকজান মহাবিদ্যালয়ৰ অধ্যক্ষ **ড॰ ৰশ্মি ৰেখা শইকীয়াই আদৰণী ভাষণ** প্ৰদান কৰি উপস্থিত অতিথি, প্ৰাক্তন ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰী, শিক্ষক-কৰ্মচাৰী আৰু ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰীসকলক আন্তৰিক আদৰণি জনায়। তেওঁ প্ৰয়াত মুখ্যেশ্বৰ শইকীয়াৰ সৈতে কাকজান মহাবিদ্যালয়ৰ ঐতিহাসিক সম্পৰ্ক আৰু মহাবিদ্যালয়খনৰ উন্নয়নৰ ক্ষেত্ৰত প্ৰাক্তন ছাত্ৰ-ছাত্ৰীসকলৰ ভূমিকা সম্পৰ্কে আলোকপাত কৰে। লগতে স্মাৰক বক্তৃতাৰ দৰে এক জ্ঞানমুখী আয়োজনৰ জৰিয়তে মহাবিদ্যালয়ৰ শৈক্ষিক পৰিৱেশ অধিক সমৃদ্ধ হ’ব বুলি আশা প্ৰকাশ কৰে।

# # # Mukhyashwar Saikia Memorial Lecture Held at Kakojan College
A memorial lecture in honour of the late Mukhyashwar Saikia was successfully organised at the auditorium of Kakojan College under the initiative of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in collaboration with the Alumni Association and the Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) Cell of the college. The programme was organised to commemorate the memory of the late Mukhyashwar Saikia, a dedicated alumnus, educationist and socially committed individual who was closely associated with Kakojan College, and to acquaint the younger generation with his ideals and contributions.
It may be mentioned that Mukhyashwar Saikia was a student of Kakojan College during the period of its establishment in 1967. In later years, he served as the founder president of the college’s Alumni Association and also held various important positions in the Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha. In recognition of his contribution to education, society and culture, his engagement with Sankardeva studies, and his deep association with Kakojan College, the memorial lecture was organised to preserve and commemorate his memory.
The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Ratul Chandra Bora, former Dean of Assam Agricultural University, distinguished researcher of Sankardeva studies and noted literary figure. Speaking on the topic ‘The Humanistic Philosophy of Srimanta Sankardeva’, Dr. Bora explained the importance of humanism as the central element of Srimanta Sankardeva’s philosophy. According to him, human beings and society constituted the core of Sankardeva’s thoughts, activities and creative works. With the objective of bringing about the overall upliftment of society, the saint-reformer used various creative and cultural mediums such as religion, literature, language, culture, music, drama and the arts to build a healthy, harmonious and refined society.
In his lecture, Dr. Bora emphasised that Sankardeva’s humanism was not confined to a narrow religious framework. His philosophy embodied a profound message of equality, fraternity, tolerance, compassion and social harmony. He sought to liberate human society from divisions, inequalities and cultural crises and to establish a just and humane social order. Dr. Bora observed that Sankardeva’s humanistic philosophy remains equally relevant in the contemporary world.
The programme began with a welcome address delivered by the Principal of Kakojan College, Dr. Rashmi Rekha Saikia, who warmly welcomed the distinguished speaker, invited guests, alumni, faculty members, staff and students. She highlighted the historic association of the late Mukhyashwar Saikia with Kakojan College and the important role played by alumni in the development of the institution. She also expressed the hope that academic initiatives such as the memorial lecture would further enrich the intellectual and educational environment of the college.
The programme commenced with a prayer and a Ghosha rendered by the former Vice-Principal, Dr. Dhiren Kalita. Among those present on the occasion were Bhaven Chandra Bora, President of the Alumni Association of Kakojan College; distinguished educationist Keshav Chandra Bora; Suren Saikia; Shantichhaya Saikia; Runima Barua; Dr. Raju Barua; Dr. Bijaylaxmi Bordoloi; Rupak Ranjan Saikia, member of the Holongapar Zilla Parishad; office-bearers of the Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha; members of the family of the late Mukhyashwar Saikia; and faculty members, staff and students of Kakojan College.
The programme was ably conducted by Tufail Zilani. At the conclusion of the event, Professor Utpal Sadhanidar, Head of the Department of Chemistry, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to the keynote speaker, invited guests, the Alumni Association, the IKS Cell, IQAC, the college community and all those who extended their cooperation towards the successful organisation of the programme.
The memorial lecture, organised with deep respect for the memory and contributions of the late Mukhyashwar Saikia, holds special significance in the academic and cultural life of Kakojan College. It also provided a valuable opportunity for the younger generation to engage more deeply with the humanistic philosophy of Srimanta Sankardeva and to reflect upon its continuing relevance in contemporary society.
