1) BRAZIL OUSTS PRESIDENT ROUSEFF

Brazil's Senate voted to oust President Dilma Rousseff ending the episode of massive corruption scandal and brutal economic crisis that rocked Brazil. Michel Temer was sworn in as the new President of Brazil.

Rousseff, country's first female president was accused of illegally using money from state banks to bankroll public spending.



2) S C NULLS SINGUR LAND ACQUISITION

In a landmark ruling the Supreme Court struck down the acquisition of nearly 1,000 acres of land in West Bengal's Singur in 2006 for Tata Motors' Nano car project and called it bad in law, intent and ex*****on.

Mamata Banerjee, current Chief Minister had vehemently opposed acquisition way back in 2010 and lead a massive public movement against it. This earned her a land slide electoral win in West Bengal in 2011, uprooting the 34 years old communist rule.

France’s constitutional court has ruled against the ban on Burkini, the full-body swim wear used by some Muslim women to maintain their modesty while enjoying their time on beach.
