Perhaps the most influential of those factors is gastronomy.
We cherish our culture, love our local cuisines and take immense pride in them.
It's our zest for food which makes us explore different cultures, habits all over the world, being full of respect & admiration for them at every stride.
On sustainable gastronomy day, it's a reminder for us to support our local gastronomy in every way. We must use our environment sustainably and keep a healthy balance in our biodiversity.

SRMIST has been ranked No.1 private university in India No.21 among Indian universities by the Nature Index 2020, done based on Nature Index data from 1 January to 31 December 2019.
SRMIST ranked 19th in India for Chemistry, 28th in Physical Sciences and 5th in India among Nature and Science journal group.
It is indeed a proud moment for our college, also an indicator of our global high-quality research output and collaboration.
The Nature Index is a database of author affiliations and institutional relationships. The index tracks contributions to research articles published in 82 renowned natural science journals chosen by an independent group of researchers.
Our top articles include 'The GenomeAsia 100k Project enables genetic discoveries across Asia' and 'A bacteriophage nucleus-like compartment shields DNA from CRISPR nucleases' published in Nature (December 2019).

The health of your lungs is vital to a healthy way of life.

To***co and its byproducts have proven to be harmful to its users, with its use leading to Cancer, Tuberculosis, Chronic Bronchitis and more recently the Corona virus.

Furthermore, second-hand smoke is a cause for numerous infections, particularly affecting infants & children.

Awareness of smoking-associated health risks is necessary for our generation. The implications not only affect the smoker but also those around them.

On world Anti-To***co day, let's spread awareness and understand the hazards we expose ourselves to concerning smoking. Our wellness should be our principal concern before anything else.

The coronavirus has brought the whole world to a standstill. The economic and social repercussions are sure to come.
Prof. Sandeep Sancheti, the Vice-Chancellor of SRMIST, gives an interesting perspective in a recent interview to India Today on the uncertain future of India's educational establishment.
The closure of schools & colleges has hindered the flow and composure of the whole system. But with the technology available today, it's a chance for India to adapt to a rejuvenated framework and develop a fresh outlook.
He urges the educators, administrators and students of India to be equanimous and optimistic, citing the diverse talents of students and its continual demands.
The article infers that the current uncertain scenario is not a sign of a bleak future, rather an opportunity to excel through newer methods with the help of technology and a constructive mindset.

The dates for SRMJEEE 2020 have been confirmed and will be held from 30th July to 4th of August 2020. 127 Indian cities and 5 abroad have been set as the test centres.

The exam will be

- Computer-based

- MCQ based on PC & M/B, English, Aptitude (No negative marking)

- 2-hour & 30-minutes timespan

Tentative dates for counselling are likely to be the 2nd/3rd week of August 2020.

SRMIST will be following all state regulations & safety protocols.
