Kanpur Institute of Technology successfully celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and active participation under the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing." The programme was organised by the Department of Student Welfare and featured an enlightening session by Mr. Abhishek Yogacharya, Yoga Therapist, Acupressure Therapist, Asana Therapist, Panchkarma Expert, and Meditation & Yogic Healing Practitioner, Founder of Yog Srajan (Ayurveda & Holistic Health Hub), Kidwai Nagar, Kanpur. He has also conducted wellness sessions at renowned organizations including the SBI Head Office, Kanpur Jail, Radio Mirchi, Methodist Church, and Bank of India Zonal Office.
The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Brajesh Varshney, Director, KIT, and Dr. Prashant Kumar Katiyar, Director, KITP, along with Deans, HoDs, faculty members, staff members, students, and NSS volunteers. During the session, participants practiced yoga asanas, pranayama, meditation techniques, and gained valuable insights into acupressure, panchkarma, and yogic healing for holistic well-being.The programme highlighted the vital role of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental wellness, emotional balance, and healthy ageing. The active participation of the entire KIT family made the celebration meaningful and inspiring, reinforcing the message that yoga is a way of life that contributes to a healthier, happier, and more productive society.
