The “ Karandighi Deepayan Shishutirtha” was set up in 1997. It was the birth day of “BAPUJI”, The father of nation. The school was established in that year initially with seventy students and seven teachers.The eminent poet, writer, Late Kiran Gopal De Sarkar gave the name of the School as “Deepayan Shishutirtha”. “Deepayan” means “ The source of light” . It is an educational endeavor as well as a dream project of the Founder Shree Koushik De Sarkar. The name “ Karandighi “ comes from the word “ KarnoDighi ”, relating to mythology, fabulous imaginary or reality that “ Karno” the famous “Dhanurdhar” of MAHABHARAT once came here for hunting and took his bath at the very “ Dighi” offering Surya Deva, chanting the Mantra “ Om JabaKusamaSankashan….”. From that the “Dighi” named as “ KarnoDighi”. And the best school of Karandighi is KARANDIGHI DEEPAYAN SHISHUTIRTHA.
