As cycling grows in popularity among Indians, Darjeeling gets India's first hill station bicycle path. Bikers can now ride through the forest cover, undisturbed by vehicles that will be prohibited from the region. At an altitude of over 2, 000 meters, the 20 km long cycle route runs through dense pine forest and Senchal wildlife sanctuary, one of India’s oldest nature reserves. It is a sign of progress. At Re 1 for 17km, cheapest bus in India fueled by cow dung biogas launched in Kolkata - the country’s very first biogas bus. Biogas is produced from animal and plant waste and principally consists of methane. It is a non-toxic, colorless and flammable gas that can be used as fuel for vehicles, cooking and generating electricity. The 54-seater bus gives a mileage of 6 km for one kg biogas that costs Rs 20. The tank is of 80 kg capacity and, therefore, the vehicle can run 480 km on a full tank. A nominal fare of Re 1 will be charged from each passenger irrespective of the distance covered. Electric self-driving driver-less truck. It is remotely controlled by drivers and is significantly smaller than heavy trucks. It does not have room on-board for a human driver. It is a windowless box on wheels, powered by electric motors. Its power comes from a massive 200-kilowatt-hour battery pack, providing up to 124 miles of driving per charge, It is about 23-feet-long and has an operating weight of 20 tonnes.. World’s first hybrid ‘aeroboat’ made by Indo-Russian JV can travel on land, water, snow, and sand. Keeping in mind the difficulty of accessing terrains such as flooded or marshy areas where the use of regular boats is made impossible, the aeroboat is designed to access shallow water, patches of dry land, or marine vegetation. It has been designed by IIAAT Holding, a joint venture between the International Institute for Advanced Aerospace Technologies and Indian firm Millennium Aerodynamics. While hovercrafts on an average move at around 45km to 50 km per hour on water, aeroboats are capable of going at around 150 km or more. A wonderful product for disaster management!!.. Varsity applies grandma’s wisdom for safe drinking water - a low-cost water purifier from an age-old Indian tradition. Recognizing copper’s potent use in removing pathogens from water and making it fit to drink, Bengaluru based Transdisciplinary University (TDU) has launched TamRas, a low cost copper-based water purification device for rural areas. The product uses the property of copper ions to get rid of E. coli, rota-virus, typhoid and cholera-causing pathogens commonly found in drinking water. The jar or the container comes with a tap and lid and water once stored in the jar for 10 hours, comes out purified. TamRas consists of a 15 litre container that can house an immersible copper unit which can give 15 litres of water free of common pathogens over 10 hours. There is huge potential for this product because diarrhea is the second-largest killer of children below the age of five, after pneumonia!!

It’s also packed with artificial intelligence, it features drone delivery, and it’s open round-the-clock without staffing. Instead of driving to the store and waiting in line, the store will come to you – and you can check an app to see if a store is nearby. All purchases are automatically tallied without the need for a checkout counter. Or you can order a drone delivery – each store has 4 drone pads for quick delivery. It keeps track of what is purchased and uses artificial intelligence to restock inventory. When the store needs to be restocked, it will drive itself to the warehouse and fill up. A rooftop solar device produces water instead of just electricity. It can produce up to 5 liters of drinking water per day from the air. It looks to be a promising addition to homes or businesses that want to gain some water sovereignty. A single unit has a physical footprint of 2.8 square meters, generates its own electricity from a solar photovoltaic panel and uses that electricity to drive a cycle of condensation and evaporation that can produce 2 to 5 liters of water per day. A 30-liter reservoir holds the generated water and allows for the distilled water to have minerals added to it for taste, and the output can be plumbed directly to a tap inside the home or business.
