Science College, Kokrajhar student secured place in CM’s Green Fellowship programme:
In inspiring news worth sharing, Mintu Basumatary of Science College, Kokrajhar had earned a place in the 2nd Chief Minister’s Green Fellowship Programme 2025–2026 from Kokrajhar district. He is a dedicated and sincere student from the Department of Botany at Science College, Kokrajhar and was selected in a highly competitive selection process managed by the Assam Pollution Control Board (APCB). This achievement brings immense pride to this College and Kokrajhar district.
For the 2025–2026 batch, Mintu Basumatary had undertaken his training and academic exposure in the month of March along with 22 students from various scientific disciplines across Assam at the University of Malaya in Malaysia, a top-tier Asian university renowned for its research in environmental sciences and sustainability. This opportunity offers valuable insights into sustainable practices, environmental protection strategies, and advanced green technologies, enabling him to contribute to Assam's environmental efforts.
The Assam Pollution Control Board rolled out its flagship initiative, the Chief Minister’s Green Fellowship Programme 2025–26, under the leadership of Chairman, Dr. Arup K. Misra. Marking the second consecutive year of the programme, the initiative aims to build a skilled and environmentally conscious younger generation through international academic and practical exposure.
The CM’s Green Fellowship Programme, an initiative under the Government of Assam, emphasizes environmental sustainability. It targets meritorious students from science, engineering, and related fields, offering them practical, research-oriented exposure to green solutions and innovative technologies.
