গত ১৫ নভেম্বর, ২০১৯ থেকে ৩১ মে, ২০২৩ পর্যন্ত কার্যকরী কাউন্সিল এর সমস্ত আয়-ব্যয়ের হিসাব নীচে দেওয়া হলো। আমাদের রাজ্যের টিএমসিপি পরিচালিত অন্যান্য ছাত্র ইউনিয়নগুলির বিপরীতে আমরা বরাবরের মতো সম্পূর্ণ স্বচ্ছ ভাবে এটি সকলের সামনে প্রকাশ করছি। ড্রাইভ লিংক নীচে দেওয়া হলো।

আগামীকাল ৩১ মে, ২০২৩, বেলা ৩ টের সময় প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছাত্র সংসদের পক্ষ থেকে নির্বাচিত ছাত্র সংসদের মেয়াদকাল বিষয়ে একটি সাংবাদিক বৈঠকের ডাক দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

PRESS RELEASE

REGARDING DISSOLUTION OF PRESIDENCY UNIVERSITY STUDENTS’ UNION :

Date : 30.05.23

After 2017, the Students’ Council Election took place only in four colleges, and Presidency University is one of them. It is visible that the West Bengal Government is reluctant about the Students’ Council Election in every colleges. The Presidency University Students’ Council Election took place for the last time on 14th November, 2019. Despite the duration of the elected council is over the West Bengal Government and the Authority is intentionally incapable to conduct the elections.

Presidency University Students’ Union always tried to stand beside every student of this university. At this point of time there is a lack of democracy in the elected Students’ Representative and Union Office Beares. Most of the batches those had elected CRs and the batch of the Office bearers have passed out and the new classes don’t have CRs. We condemn the process, how the student wing of ruling party of West Bengal is running the students’ union in different colleges. They are undemocratically using the power of the students’ union body to transform the campus into an arena of corruptions and hooliganism. We believe that the Student’s union should not be the voice of hooligans rather the voice of the students.

The West Bengal Government and the Central Government is deliberately trying to push the education system into the hands of the corporates. Also every campus is facing different kinds of infrastructural and academic issues. Post Lockdown, by the implementation of NEP 2020, the Government is determined to transform the offline education system into an online mode. By implementing this policies, they are affecting the educational and mental developmental of the students and they are forcing the students to become cheap labourers. We believe that the Student’s Union of Presidency University is one of the most important elected body to uphold and talk about the various problems of the students.

According to us, in this present situation, it is not possible to fulfill the political and social responsibility by carrying forward this union. Thereby, we are intended to dissolve this union and this union demands for conducting the Students’ Union Election as soon as possible. We call for active participation of every students and students organisations of Presidency University to come forward to build broadest possible unity for conducting Students’ Union Election Movement.

গত ১৪ নভেম্বর , ২০১৯ এ প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বুকে শেষ ছাত্রসংসদ নির্বাচন হয় এবং তাতে ভারতের ছাত্র ফেডারেশনের প্রার্থীরা জয়ী হয়। ইউনিয়নের কার্যকালে প্রথম চার মাসের পরবর্তী সময়ে কোভিড পরিস্থিতির ফলে ক্যাম্পাস বন্ধ হয়। পরবর্তীতে, এই একই পরিস্থিতির দোহাই দিয়ে ইলেকশন করাতে ব্যর্থ হয় অথরিটি। ইতিমধ্যে প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছাত্র সংসদের দীর্ঘ আন্দোলনের ফলে পুনরায় ক্যাম্পাস অফলাইনে খুলতে বাধ্য হয় অথরিটি। তা সত্বেও অথরিটি এবং রাজ্য সরকারের দীর্ঘ টালবাহানার ফলে ক্যাম্পাসের বুকে ছাত্রসংসদ নির্বাচন সম্ভব হয়নি গত সাড়ে তিন বছর।
এমতাবস্থায়, সাড়ে তিন বছর ধরে ছাত্রসংসদ নির্বাচন না হওয়ায়, বিভিন্ন সোসাইটিতে নির্বাচিত প্রতিনিধির সংখ্যা ক্রমহ্রাসমান এবং বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে নির্বাচিত প্রতিনিধি অনুপস্থিত। বর্তমানে, স্নাতকোত্তর স্তরের দ্বিতীয় বর্ষের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা, যারা ইউনিয়ন পদাধিকারী হিসেবে নির্বাচিত হয়েছিলেন, তারা পাশআউট হয়ে যাচ্ছেন। তৎসহ, পাশ আউট হয়ে যাচ্ছেন অধিকাংশ ক্লাসের নির্বাচিত ছাত্র প্রতিনিধি। বর্তমানে একাধিক ক্লাসে নেই নির্বাচিত ছাত্র প্রতিনিধিও। রাজ্যের বুকে অন্যান্য বিভিন্ন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়-কলেজে রাজ্য সরকারের ছাত্র সংগঠন অ-ছাত্রদের দ্বারা ইউনিয়ন পরিচালনা, ইউনিয়নকে ব্যাপক দুর্নীতির আখড়া এবং ক্যাম্পাসকে তোলাবাজির আঁতুড়ঘর করে তোলার প্রচেষ্টা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে ক্রমাগত। এই ঘটনার তীব্র নিন্দা জানায় প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছাত্র সংসদ। রাজনৈতিক ভাবে প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছাত্র সংসদ মনে করে ইউনিয়ন হওয়া উচিত সাধারণ ছাত্রছাত্রীদের কন্ঠস্বর, গুন্ডাবাজ-তোলাবাজদের নয়।
রাজ্য তথা দেশের বুকে শিক্ষা এবং শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রকে কর্পোরেটের হাতে বেচে দেওয়ার ষড়যন্ত্র করে চলেছে রাজ্য এবং কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার। এমতাবস্থায়, ক্যাম্পাসে বিভিন্ন পরিকাঠামোগত সমস্যা, বিভিন্ন অ্যাকাডেমিক সমস্যা তথা বিভিন্ন ক্ষেত্রে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের সমান সুযোগ সুবিধা না পাওয়ার মতো সমস্যা ক্রমবর্ধমান। তাছাড়াও শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রে সাম্প্রতিক নিয়োগ দুর্নীতি থেকে শুরু করে অগণতান্ত্রিক কার্যকলাপের নিদর্শন দেখেছি আমরা রাজ্যের বুকে। তৎসহ, বিভিন্ন নীতি নির্ধারণের ক্ষেত্রে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের ছাত্রছাত্রীদের ক্যাম্পাস জীবনকে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ করে একা করে দেওয়ার প্রচেষ্টা চলছে নয়া শিক্ষানীতি প্রণয়নের মাধ্যমে, প্রচেষ্টা চলছে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের বৌদ্ধিক চিন্তার পরিসর কমিয়ে দেওয়া, কম পয়সার শ্রমিকে পরিণত করার, প্রচেষ্টা চলছে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের শিক্ষা এবং ক্যাম্পাস জীবনকে অনলাইন মাধ্যমের দিকে ঠেলে দেওয়ার। এহেন বৌদ্ধিক সামাজিক এবং অর্থনৈতিক বৈষম্যমূলক আক্রমণের প্রেক্ষিতে প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছাত্র সংসদ মনে করে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের এহেন সমস্যা তুলে ধরার জন্য প্রয়োজন ছাত্রসংসদ নির্বাচন এবং নির্বাচিত প্রতিনিধি, অথরিটির বসিয়ে দেওয়া কোনো পুতুল নয়।
এই বাস্তব পরিস্থিতিতে, এই ছাত্রসংসদের পক্ষে ছাত্রসংসদের যে রাজনৈতিক উদ্দেশ্য এবং কার্যকলাপ থাকা উচিত, তা চালিয়ে যাওয়া সম্ভব নয়। তাই, আমরা ২০১৯ সালের নির্বাচিত এই ছাত্রসংসদকে চালিয়ে নিয়ে যেতে ইচ্ছুক নই এবং অবিলম্বে ছাত্রসংসদ নির্বাচন চাই। এর সাথেই আমাদের আহ্বান রইলো ক্যাম্পাসের বিভিন্ন ছাত্র সংগঠন তথা সাধারণ ছাত্রছাত্রীদের কাছে আগামীতে ছাত্রসংসদ নির্বাচনকে কেন্দ্র করে বৃহত্তর ছাত্র আন্দোলন গড়ে তোলার জন্যে।

দীর্ঘ ৯ বছর পর ফের প্রকাশিত হলো প্রেসিডেন্সি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পত্রিকা (The Presidency University Magazine)।
উদ্বোধন করলেন অধ্যাপক সন্দীপ কুমার মন্ডল, অধ্যাপক আব্দুস সামাদ গায়েন, অধ্যাপক উপল চক্রবর্তী।

অন্যান্য লেখকের পাশাপাশি এই সংখ্যায় লিখেছেন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অধ্যাপক হিয়া সেন, অধ্যাপক নবমিতা দাস, অধ্যাপক অর্ণব হালদার, অধ্যাপক নাভ্রাস জাট আফ্রিদি, অধ্যাপক দেবারতি জানা, অধ্যাপক কৌশিক প্রামানিক, সহ অন্যান্য অধ্যাপক, গবেষক, ছাত্র। এছাড়াও এই সংখ্যায় পুনপ্রকাশিত হয়েছে ১৯২৫ সালে রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের প্রকাশিত অভিভাষণ, ১৯২৭ সালে প্রকাশিত অধ্যাপক ঐতিহাসিক কুরুভিল্লা জাকারিয়ার গ্রীস ভ্রমণের বর্ণনা, ১৯৫৯ সালে ছাত্রাবস্থায় অধ্যাপক অমিয় কুমার বাগচীর লেখা নেহেরুর কল্যাণকর রাষ্ট্রের সমালোচনা, এবং অধ্যাপক সুকান্ত চৌধুরীর ছাত্রাবস্থায় লেখা কবি TS Eliot এর লেখার সমালোচনা। পত্রিকার প্রচ্ছদ করেছেন শিল্পী অমিত মণ্ডল

The Presidency University Magazine has been published after a period of 9 years of dormancy. The Issue has been inaugurated by Professor Sandip Kumar Mondal, Professor Abdus Samad Gayen, and Professor Upal Chakrabarty.
Besides other contributors, this issue includes pieces by our Professors Hiya Sen, Nabamita Das, Arnab Haldar, Navras Jaat Aafreedi, Debarati Jana, Kaushick Pramanik and many of our other Professors. It showcases an array of poems, essays and artwork from several talented students and scholars of our University.

Besides these, this issue includes a republished section, including a rare recorded speech by Rabindranath Tagore in 1925, a 1927 piece to the College magazine by historian and professor Kuruvilla Zakaria on his travels in Greece, a 1959 piece by Professor Amiya Kr. Bagchi critiquing the Nehruvian Welfare state, and a 1972 piece by Professor Sukanta Chaudhuri based on the literary critic of TS Eliot.

The Magazine editors include Soumyadip Karan, Shreya Dutta, Adrija Karak, and Sparsha Barman.

Here attached is the mail to the Controller of Examination, Presidency University from Presidency University students' council regarding the rescheduling of regular and backlog examinations, as both the exams have been scheduled on the same day.

Prior to this, we have a discussion with Authority about the violation of UGC Guidelines in regard to the scheduling End Semester Examinations, since many departments have not yet completed their syllabus for the examinations due to the one week holiday that was declared for heatwave. But till now no information or steps have been taken regarding this matter.
If the Authority remains silent in such serious academic issues, we will take our movement to a greater step.

We cordially invite all professors, students, and staff of your department to donate blood for the patients who are in need of it.

1. PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES SUCH AS 'WEARING MASK, USING HAND SANITIZER AND NON-ASSEMBLY OF LARGE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS' AT ANY POINT OF TIME ARE TO BE TAKEN CARE OF.

2. DEFERRAL CRITERIA ON VACCINATION - 14 DAYS (i.e. every individual who has taken the vaccine is eligible to donate blood on the 15th day from the date of vaccination).

3. Please have a light breakfast before donating blood. Avoid an empty stomach or a heavy meal before donating blood.

NEP 2020 অগণতান্ত্রিক ভাবে নেওয়া একটা সিদ্ধান্ত, এর মাধ্যমে বেসরকারি পুঁজির হাতে শিক্ষাক্ষেত্র কে উন্মুক্ত করে দেওয়া হচ্ছে। এই আইন চূড়ান্ত অপরিকল্পিত আইন, এর মাল্টিপল এন্ট্রি- এক্সিস্ট প্রসেস যেকোন ইউনিভার্সিটি বা ক্যাম্পাসে লাগু করা হলে সেখানে ড্রপ আউট সংখ্যা বৃদ্ধি পাবে। NEP এর মাধ্যমে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার এবং রাজ্য সরকার উভয়েই শিক্ষাকেন্দ্র থেকে নিজের হাত গুটিয়ে নিতে চাইছে। ফলে কর্পোরেট নিজের সুবিধামত পি.এইচ. ডি সিলেবাস, রিসার্চের টপিক চেঞ্জ করতে পারবে এবং কর্পোরেট এবং মোদী সরকারের আঁতাত আদতে শিক্ষাক্ষেত্রের বিপুল গৈরিকিকরণ ঘটাবে। ক্যাম্পাসে মুক্তচিন্তার পরিবেশ এবং রাজনৈতিক চর্চার স্বাধীনতা হরন করবে এই নয়া শিক্ষানীতি। এই অবৈজ্ঞানিক এবং আদতে শিক্ষা বেচে দেওয়ার ব্লু প্রিন্ট এই শিক্ষানীতি প্রেসিডেন্সিতে লাগু করা উচিত হবে কি না এই বিষয়টি এবং ক্যাম্পাসে ক্যাম্পাসে ইউনিয়নের প্রয়োজনীয়তা আছে কি না এই বিষয় নিয়ে রেফারেন্ডম এর কথা ভাবা হয়েছে। ২০১৯ এর ইউনিয়ন ইলেকশনের পর থেকে আর নির্বাচন হয়নি। ইউনিয়ন আমাদের কাছে অথারিটির সাথে যোগাযোগ করার এবং ছাত্রদের দাবিদাওয়া নিয়ে কথা বলার একটা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মাধ্যম, এবং এই মাধ্যমকে নিতান্তই অকেজো করে রাখার এই নোংরা প্রচেষ্টা চলছে৷ ফলত এই দুটি বিষয়কে নিয়ে সাধারন ছাত্রছাত্রীদের ভাবনা, পাশাপাশি রেফারেন্ডম সংক্রান্ত তাদের গুরুত্তপূর্ণ মতামত জানতে ১৭ এপ্রিল, ২০২৩ -এ দুপুর ১ টা ১৫ মিনিটে পোর্টিকো তে UGBM এর ডাক দিচ্ছি।
