Established in 1966, this department now functions out of the Salt Lake campus of Jadavpur University. The department presently offers an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Master of Technology.

📢 Placement Season 2024–2025 | Department of Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering | Jadavpur University

With immense pride and excitement, we are thrilled to announce the commencement of the 2024–25 Placement Season for the Department of Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering (IEE), Jadavpur University.

Despite ongoing global economic challenges, our students have demonstrated remarkable resilience, adaptability, and technical prowess — a true testament to the IEE spirit. Their hands-on project experience, strong academic grounding, and constant pursuit of excellence have paved the way for promising opportunities across core engineering, analytics, IT, and consulting sectors.

With every circuit traced and every sensor tuned, and with every line of code carefully hewn, a journey unfolds — from breadboards to boardrooms, from silent schematics to solutions that bloom, from the pulse of instrumentation to the promise of innovation.

A special thanks to our dedicated Placement Coordinators Subhadip De, Sayanta Dutta and Somenath Garai for IEE, whose behind-the-scenes efforts have been instrumental in driving the process forward.

Though slightly delayed, the pride and joy we feel remains as fresh as ever, as we look back on the remarkable Placement season of 2023-24. The BIEE Batch of 2020-2024 has once again upheld the tradition of excellence by achieving 100% placement which is a proud continuation of our department's legacy.

This season brought its own set of challenges. With the job market slowed by global recessionary trends and limited opportunities in niche domains like Electronics design, the hurdles were many. Yet, the batch demonstrated exceptional resilience and grit, turning adversities into triumphs. Core Instrumentation and Consultancy sectors led the placement trends this year, reflecting the versatility of the batch.

Highlights of the Season

⏩ Six students landing offers of ₹30 LPA and above in Hardware Electronics Design, even amidst a tough hiring landscape (On-campus)

The entire success is a true reflection of collective effort, perseverance, and the spirit of BIEE Batch of 2024 . We are excited to announce that Joydeep Maji has successfully secured a Full-Time position as a Graduate Engineer Trainee at Mahindra Automotive during the highly competitive on-campus placement season.

Joydeep, the Class Rep, is one of the most enthusiastic and hardworking individuals in the batch. Be it scheduling classes, cancelling CTs, or coordinating placement drives, he's your go-to guy on whom you can always rely. One of the most loved individuals in the entire department, he has never failed to deliver in demanding situations, from helping the professors during NBA visit preparations to shouldering other department-related responsibilities, he has always been a constant helping hand for the department.

"The salt of the earth" is a living garrulous, who can spend hours talking with anyone. He is always online and responds to messages in the wink of an eye. He is the ultimate who can start crying in any situation. He is an expert in public speaking, especially with his American accent. A big fan of promos, he has made it a habit of delivering promos in his illusionary world to overcome anxiety and sad thoughts.

Joydeep is the perfect example of a master manipulator A-Lister handling situations smoothly. He has a good taste in music and can cook delicious food too. Bro had quite an interesting school life (let's not discuss it here XD), but he didn't have the luxury of experiencing the same in JU. Of late, "The Voice of the Voiceless" is making quite a mark on the JU confession page (writing and receiving confessions, huh XD). The only thing he lacks is social acumen when it comes to talking with unknown people (excluding HRs XD). We hope just like he managed us, somebody manages him too XD.

We are thrilled to share that Subhleen Singh has secured a Full-Time offer from Optum as Software Development Associate during the highly competitive on-campus placements.

Subhleen Singh, a name as uncommon as someone grinding leetcode late at night and benching your body weight in the morning. Just when there was a drought for SDE offers, bro managed to convert one finer than Khabib's undefeated streak. While everyone panics before the final shortlist comes out, bro managed to stay asleep. His calm demeanor under pressure is nothing short of legendary.

Subhleen is a master of balance. If you don't see him living in the coding matrix or hitting the gym, he's probably binging UFC fights, watching GOT for the 1287th time, tracking geopolitical events, or looking out for wide-body chassis (it's an inside joke). His dedication to his passions is evident, whether it's coding, fitness, or staying updated with global events.

The journey has been real since March 2022. From tackling complex algorithms to setting new personal records at the gym, Subhleen's commitment and perseverance are truly inspiring. His multifaceted personality makes him a standout in any crowd, effortlessly blending intellect, physical strength, and a keen sense of humor.

We are thrilled to share that Aniket Ghosh has secured a Full-Time offer from EY as Associate Consultant during the highly competitive on-campus placements.

Aniket aka "Oniket" is truly "The Man, The Myth, The Legend." He's the epitome of sheer will, determination, and perseverance. His journey has been full of highs and lows, but his unwavering spirit and zest for life make him an unforgettable character. Despite facing setbacks in life (a phase where crying alone beside the lake was normal for him), no obstacle could break his earth-shattering resolve to achieve what he wished for.

The self-proclaimed Delhi ka Launda with his Haryanvi accent is often found ending texts with 💀 to portray his cool demeanor (making him more uncool). He is the perfect person whom everyone likes to dig at XD. He spends the entire day cooking dishes, caring for cats, while also teaching coding to his lawyer date. He has friendly relations with almost everyone XD. He's a vibrant and dynamic individual whose fun-loving nature is truly infectious. But what really sets him apart are his incredible dance moves at college fests like CIIPPUS and Sanskriti. Whether he's cracking jokes (very articulate at cracking dark jokes) or engaging in spontaneous adventures, Aniket surely knows how to make the most out of every moment.

We are thrilled to share that Yogesh Tiwari and Saptaswa Majumdar have secured Full-Time offers from Fluor Corporation as Graduate Engineer Trainee during the highly competitive on-campus placements.

Yogesh, affectionately called "Thara Bhai," is one of the kindest and most helpful people you'll find in our batch. Whether it's books, train tickets, admissions, T-shirts, or finding an affordable apartment in Kolkata, he has the ultimate "jugaad" for all your problems. Not only is he academically active, but he also supports his family and even contributed a fair share of money for his sister's wedding, pulling off quite a feat.

Transitioning from coding to core engineering was a bold decision that turned out to be life-changing for him. Although he often struggles to meet deadlines, he has always played it bold in life. From his romantic reels in the first year to his role as a CR in the second year and his support as the Logistic Convenor of our departmental reunion, Yogesh has always been in the spotlight. His bike is his true companion, whether it's breaking traffic rules or helping him travel places for work. However, when he's in a bad mood, he can be the worst nightmare for anyone.

A big Kabir Singh fan, he has applied the same touch to his love life too. His intrusive thoughts often become too dark to imagine, but that can't overshadow his heart of gold which can be seen through his perseverance to help his peers in tough situations.



Saptaswa, aka Kaka, is one of those rare guys who spends more time with his in-laws than his friends XD. He excels in both theoretical studies and practical applications, balancing academic success with a fulfilling personal life. His calm demeanor and approachable nature enable him to connect with people effortlessly.

He has experienced difficulties in maintaining close friendships, often finding himself not well-integrated into a supportive friend group. He faced a significant personal setback when someone he deeply trusted betrayed him, shaking his faith in others. However, his habit of relying on friends' money for food without paying his share of the bills can be quite annoying.

The biggest comedy in his life occurred during industrial training when someone from his past roasted him without realizing she was talking to the same person XD. But keeping everything aside, his kindness and willingness to help illustrate his golden heart, making him a cherished friend for many.

We are thrilled to share that Arya Kanta has secured Internship offers from Amazon and Microsoft as Software Engineer Intern via off-campus referral. However, she has decided to accept the offer from Microsoft

Arya, hailing from Durgapur, is the most charming and nicest person in the batch. She has all the qualities to pitch herself for top SDE roles, which is why she has bagged not one but two offers from FAANG companies, again proving her determination! 👑

She is a person with almost zero haters and has a nice, cazzzz outlook to everything. "Chap nishnaaaa, shob thik hoye jabe" is her ultimate healing phrase for every situation. She also has her unique signature behavior mixed with a lot of fun and entertainment, which is where the phrase "just kanta kanta things" comes from. She makes the best random plans and never fails to cheer you up with her words. She is the perfect example of an all-rounder—from getting famous as Miss CIIPPUS to rocking dance, drama, and music performances, showcasing her marketing knowledge, and grabbing the first off-campus intern offer from IEE (Darjeeling indeed ✨)

We are delighted to announce that Himanish Paul has successfully converted his internship at Reliance Industries Limited into a Pre-Placement Offer during the highly competitive on-campus placements.

Himanish, the Pablo Escobar from Durgapur, is one of the most talented singers whose melodious voice captivated everyone during his initial days in JU. However, priorities shifted after CIIPPUS night as his performances became a rare treat. Be it CIIPPUS, SRIJAN, or SANSKRITI, CAB is the only place where you’ll find him. His passion for exploring new places and eagerness to embark on the next adventure make him quite the ideal companion. Whether it's a serene beach, a bustling city, or a tranquil mountain retreat, he finds joy in discovering the world's wonders. When he's not singing or traveling, he loves to relax and unwind, enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

Although his love for greenery is well known around campus, he’s an easy victim to falling for red flags. With his indecorous sense of humor and bitching skills, he could take on any neighborhood auntie toe-to-toe XD. He doesn’t just create a vibe but carries it with him wherever he goes, making it impossible not to laugh in his presence (No wonder why he’s his parents’ favorite son). His vibrant spirit and zest for new experiences make him a delightful companion and a loving friend.

We are thrilled to share that Sk Mustafa Kamal has secured a Full-Time offer from Varroc as Graduate Engineer Trainee during the highly competitive on-campus placements.

Mustafa Kamal is a standout individual on campus, effortlessly excelling in academics and, at times, being the life of the party. As a true polymath and virtuoso, he balances his pursuits with ease and never meddles in others' affairs.

Known as one of the "core gawds", Mustafa possesses extensive knowledge in Instrumentation, with a notable proficiency in analytics. Whether he's entertaining with OP beatboxing or captivating hearts with his mesmerizing reels, Mustafa's talents shine brightly. Occasionally, he can be impulsive, focusing solely on his needs. While bus rides are ideal, he is too rich to afford Uber rides for friendly interactions XD.

The IEEE Secretary demonstrated exceptional organizational skills during IEEE events and Srijan. During semester exams, you'll often find him racing against time to submit his answersheet. Yet, he always makes time to help others, sharing his expertise across various fields with clarity and patience. Mustafa is the ideal guide, mentor, and friend to have during your college years.
