The State Women's Commission of the All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF), is organising a seminar on patriarchal norms inflicted on women based on gender and religion, titled WOMEN BEYOND BELIEF.

Through this seminar we want to open a dialogue among students on an issue that addresses the potent forces behind the constant stereotyping and gender biasness that women constantly fall victim to, even today. The seminar will consist of the views of a proficient panel of speakers and that of a student moderator followed by an interactive session.
It will commence at 2:00 PM in the R.K Hall on the 9th of August, 2019.

AICUF warm-heartly welcomes each one of you to be a part of this seminar, and thereby add value to it.

The State Women's Commision (SWC) of AICUF West Bengal organised an interactive session with the residents of Asha Rising, a rehabilitation centre for aged women, on Monday, the 25th of March, 2019.
AICUF office bearers visited the centre and organised various activities, along with spending quality time with all of the residents. A medley of popular yesteryear songs was staged as well as a group activity, where all the students helped the ladies to accessorize and paint their very own individual flower pots. A memorable bonding exercise, this was received with much enthusiasm and excitement.
After an hour-long session of sharing stories and experiences, the day ended with a round of refreshments for all.
We are greatly indebted and would like to extend our utmost gratitude to Sunaina ma'am and Rinku ma'am, who gave us the opportunity to undertake this memorable endeavour.
On the whole, it was truly a day to remember for all involved, amidst joy, laughter and the undying spirit of human companionship😄

The Bengali unit of AICUF West Bengal took up the initiative of organising 'Adaya 2019' in collaboration with the AICUF unit of St. Xavier's College, Burdwan. The theme for the event was '29 redefined' and was held on sunday, the 24th of February at the college premises. The programme was a joint endeavour to bring together the different units of AICUF West Bengal, with an aim to promote unity, socio-cultural awareness and harmony.
The day began with a peace procession as a mark of respect for all the brave martyred jawans of the Pulwama attack. Soon after, the opening ceremony began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
The dignitaries stressed upon the essence of social responsibility and the importance of AICUF as a movement. A welcome dance by the Burdwan unit was organised, following which the event began with each college highlighting our culture through folk songs, cultural dance and an engaging dance drama. A team building excersize along with a group discussion on essential social themes was also held, namely- Waste management, Conservation of Indigenous languages, Pollution, Global warming and Social ethics/remedial measures.
A plantation drive was undertaken in the second half of the programme, with representatives from each AICUF unit planting saplings, to symbolise a promise of mutual growth and vitality for the future.
We are immensely grateful to Rev. Fr. Mourlin Fernando, Vice-Principal, St. Xavier's College, Burdwan and to all the students of the AICUF unit of Burdwan, for their undying cooperation and hospitality in ensuring the success of this endeavour.

All in all, Adaya 2019 was a successful event which ended on a memorable high, amidst joy, unity and with the promise of a unified, brighter future for all AICUFers!
