The Buntain Theological College was established as the West Bengal Bible Institute, a one-year evening Bible study course in the year 1968 by the late Rev. Mark Buntain to impart Biblical knowledge to born-again Christians who were zealous to spread the gospel. The institute was shut down after the completion of the second year batch of students. ull fledged West Bengal Bible College. In 1997 the College was renamed as the Buntain Theological College to honour its founder. The college has relocated from Park St., Kolkata to Kon Chowki (Joka), 24-Parganas in June 2014. Buntain Theological College is a theological institution of The Assembly of God Church, Kolkata, which is registered under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961 (Registration no. The College is accredited by the Asia Theological Association (ATA). It is also a member of the Assemblies of God Association of Theological Education in Southern Asia (AGATESA) and the General Council of the Assemblies of God of North India (AGNI). The College Library is equipped with over 15,000 volumes of books in English and in Bengali, as well as subscription to several periodical and newspapers. Several computers with internet access are available for students’ use.
