Inspired by the noble cause of education and philanthropic zeal, a group of twenty-two Kolkata based like-minded industrialists joined hands to form a charitable educational foundation – Kalyan Bharti Trust (KBT) – to further their dreams of serving the Society. The Heritage Academy was setup by the Kalyan Bharti Trust in 2007. Kolkata has produced distinguished luminaries from all walks of life –
many of whom are world leaders. The Heritage Academy wishes to strengthen this process by putting the city in the forefront of educational activities while carving a name for itself in the top echelons of the academic world. The Heritage Academy is committed to educating students of diverse backgrounds and talents in a warm and caring environment that encourages excellence and community. The academy strives to widen its cultural breadth by attracting students from various ethnic, racial, socioeconomic and geographic backgrounds. Faculty members strive to instill in their students a love of lifelong learning through their examples and their guidance. The academy actively promotes good citizenship, personal responsibility, and service to the wider community. Academy was established to nurture the students with courses and qualifications to enhance their skills and make them professionally competent for the workforce and productive members of the society. The Academy has firmly established itself as a provider of quality training and education in diverse fields. The experience has brought it close to many renowned professors, academicians, industrialists, experts and other professionals who have contributed in various ways to building careers for all students. The Heritage Academy provides technical education in management and technology in all technical and theoretical aspects in 3-year, full-time programs in BBA(H) and BCA(H). Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA(H)) prepares candidates for the challenges of supervisory and middle level management positions in the industry or the public sector. The program blends the three core disciplines of management, communication, and information systems into a balanced program providing the contemporary manager with the range of skills required for effectiveness. In addition the program offers general business modules to broaden the prospective manager’s knowledge base. Considering the fact that India is thrusting itself as the leader into the information technology era, the department aims to impart high quality education and prepare the youth to challenge the ever-demanding IT field. Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA(H)) program is designed to give strong foundation in all technical aspects of computers and its applications. The Academy puts emphasis on development of the communication and soft skills of the students. Apart from making them good IT professionals, the department takes care to instill strong moral values into each individual to make them good citizens of our nation to serve the industry and society constructively.
