Excited to share our latest work published in Nature Communications!
We identify TCF19 as a key regulator of hepatocyte adaptation to lipotoxic stress, integrating:
โข Fatty acid elongation to reduce lipid toxicity
โข Unfolded Protein Response (UPR) to maintain ER homeostasis
Loss of TCF19 exacerbates ER stress and hepatic dysfunction, while its activity protects against palmitate-induced lipotoxicity.
Conceptual advance: A unified transcriptional node linking lipid remodeling with proteostasis in metabolic liver disease.
A huge congratulations to Atanu for driving this work, and to the entire team and collaborators for their effort and dedication. Special thanks to our PI, Prof. Chandrima Das, for her constant guidance and support throughout this study.
