The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, in collaboration with the Training and Placement Cell of Aliah University, successfully organized an International Seminar on “AI Vision-Language Models for Remote Sensing in Industrial Usage” on 27th February, 2026 at the New Town Campus of the University.
The seminar aimed to bring together academicians, researchers, industry experts, and students to deliberate on recent advancements in Vision-Language Models (VLMs) and explore their transformative applications in remote sensing for industrial solutions. The event provided a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, interdisciplinary discussion, and industry–academia interaction.
The Keynote address was delivered by Konrad Dürrbeck, Head of Data-Centric Spatial Research at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits, Nuremberg, Germany. In his insightful talk, he highlighted the evolving role of AI-driven vision-language models in industrial remote sensing, emphasizing real-world case studies, data-centric approaches, and future research directions.
The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students, making it a significant academic event that strengthened global collaboration and promoted cutting-edge research in AI and remote sensing technologies.
