'Ambedkar Study Circle' under the Literary Club of PG Department of English, EMEA College, Kondotty has organized a Talk by Ms. Smitha Neravath on the topic " 'Kerala Modernity: Mahathma Ayyankalil and After". This was the Inagural Lecture of the academic year 2018-19 under the program 'Invited Lecture Series' of the Department.
Ms. Smitha, based on her book on Ayyankali - " Paadamillenkil Paadathekkilla" - gave insight to the still academically unrecognized history of Kerala Modernity. She argued that Dalit Community in Kerala - as MSS Pandian had said- are one step outside Modernity and hence beyond and ahead of Modernity.
