🚀 Inspiring the Spirit of Entrepreneurship at UBS Ludhiana

UBS Ludhiana was privileged to host Mr. Shibananda Dash, CEO, Ludhiana Angels Network and Director, MBCIE, as the special resource person for an engaging and thought-provoking session on Entrepreneurship.

Mr. Dash inspired our students to look beyond conventional career paths and embrace the spirit of innovation, independent thinking, calculated risk-taking and value creation. His insights encouraged young minds to envision themselves not merely as successful professionals, but as job creators, innovators and responsible nation-builders.

He also invited students and aspiring entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds to participate in a 3-Day Entrepreneurship Development Program, scheduled from October 2–4. The experiential programme will provide participants with opportunities for ideation and idea validation, interaction with founders, hands-on workshops, industrial exposure, pitching skills and team-building activities.

💰 Programme Fee: ₹4,000
🏨 Includes stay, food, toolkit, sessions and activities
🏆 ₹50,000 Cash Prize for the Best Idea/Winner
📜 Certificate of Completion for participants attending all three days
👥 Only 20 teams | 2–3 members per team

Classroom to Boardroom | UBS Ludhiana

It was a pleasure to be in conversation with Mr. Karan Singh, Assistant General Manager, JSW One Platforms Ltd. and proud alumnus of University Business School, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, MBA Batch 2013–2015.

As part of our “Classroom to Boardroom” initiative, Mr. Karan shared his valuable professional experiences, industry insights, and reflections on his journey from the classroom to the corporate boardroom.

His interaction with our students offered practical perspectives on navigating the corporate world, building professional competencies, embracing continuous learning, and preparing oneself for leadership opportunities.

It is always inspiring to see our alumni return to their alma mater and share their experiences with the next generation of management professionals.

🇮🇳 Tryst with Destiny — Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru

Delivered on 14 August 1947, just before India became independent, Nehru spoke to the Constituent Assembly about the historic responsibility that came with freedom.

“Long years ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge…”

He reminded the nation that independence was not merely the end of British rule, but the beginning of a great responsibility—to serve India’s people, remove poverty and inequality, preserve unity, and build a better future.

The speech concluded with a powerful call:

“At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.”

The relevance today

The spirit of Tryst with Destiny remains relevant nearly eight decades later. Political freedom gave India sovereignty; economic freedom, entrepreneurship, innovation and responsible citizenship help give that freedom meaning.

For young Indians, the message can be summed up as:

“Freedom gives us the opportunity. Responsibility gives it purpose. Our actions shape the destiny of India.” 🇮🇳

On the eve of our 80th Independence Day celebrations, UBS Ludhiana was privileged to host Mr. Shibananda Dash, CEO, Ludhiana Angels Network and Director, MBCIE, as the special resource person for an engaging and thought-provoking session on Entrepreneurship.

Mr. Dash inspired our students to look beyond conventional career paths and embrace the spirit of innovation, independent thinking, risk-taking and value creation. His insights highlighted how entrepreneurship can empower young minds to become not only successful professionals but also job creators, innovators and responsible nation-builders.

The session beautifully connected the spirit of Independence with the spirit of entrepreneurship — the courage to think independently, take initiative, create value and shape one’s own path.

Mr. Dash also encouraged students and people from different walks of life to participate in a 3-day Entrepreneurship Development Program, offering experiential learning through ideation and idea validation, interaction with founders, hands-on workshops, industrial exposure, pitching skills and team-building activities. The program is scheduled from October 2 to October 4, with a program fee of ₹4,000. The program includes stay, food, toolkit and all sessions and activities.

With only 20 teams allowed, each comprising 2–3 members, registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis. The program also offers a ₹50,000 cash prize for the Best Idea/Winner and a completion certificate for participants attending all three days.

The celebrations concluded on a sweet note as students, faculty and staff shared Motichoor Ladoos, celebrating the joy of togetherness and the spirit of our collective journey as one UBS family.

🇮🇳 Think Independent. Create Impact. Build the Future.

Happy 80th Independence Day! 🇮🇳
