The inauguration of EduCric 2.0, an Inter-University/College Staff Cricket Tournament was held today on May 9, 2026, at the Majuli College Field under the organization of the Sports Board of Majuli University of Culture. The event was officially inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nirode Boruah, in the presence of a distinguished assembly including Dr. Naba Kumar Gam, Principal, Rangachahi College, Shri Dipak Borah, Principal, Pub-Majuli College, Shri Uddity Borah, Jengraimukh College, Shri Ramesh Hazarika, Madhavdev University, Shri Rajib Saikia, DSP, Majuli Police, Shri Simanta Buragohain (ACS) and Shri Anurag Pritom Borborah (ACS) from the District Administration, and Shri Ashim Hazarika, District Sports Officer. Following the formal proceedings and a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Tarun Gogoi, Registrar of Majuli University of Culture, the tournament commenced with the first stage of matches, setting the stage for tomorrow's scheduled semi-finals, final, and closing ceremony.

The Department of Performing Arts, Majuli University of Culture celebrated World Dance Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy within the University premises. The occasion, globally observed on 29th April to promote awareness of the art of dance and its universal appeal. The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Tarun Gogoi, Registrar of the University and marked by a series of engaging performances showcasing classical, folk, and creative dance forms.

A special highlight of the event was the visit of the Women on Wheels (Kameng Group) – Season 4, a group known for the spirit of adventure and contribution towards women empowerment.

The programme concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Dimple Saikia, Assistant Professor, Department of Performing Arts.
