Flag hoisting was done in college to celebrate the 78 years of independence of our Nation. Principal Dr. Rahila khan hoisted the flag in the presence of all the staff and students. Students waved tricolors to celebrate the day. National anthem was sung by all the staff members to celebrate the spirit of our Nation. The function was concluded by distributing sweets among those present. Dr. Rahila remebered the freedom fighters and their sacrifices made for Nation and encouraged students to always keep their country first over everything else.

The College held its annual student Representative election with all the zest and zeal. Students participated in the process with enthuthiasm. A significant persentage of voting i,e 56% was recorded. Students actively campaigned for their favourite contestant and made Ms. Fiza BA final year student winner with whopping 51% of votes. The overall process of student election inculcated the importance of voting among our students. After the annoucement of results, Ms Fiza Khan was congratulated by Principal Dr. Rahila Khan for her triump and shedded light on the importance of Voting among students.

Islamia Girls College, Malerkotla Sees Record Admissions in 2024. At a time when most colleges in Punjab are struggling to attract students, Islamia Girls College, Malerkotla saw record growth in admissions over previous years. So far in the current academic year (2024-25), 330 new students have taken admission in the college in different programmes, which is 58 percent higher than the previous academic year.
