Day 2 of Medical Laboratory Professionals Week 2026 commenced with an informative and skill-oriented workshop titled โ€œTransforming Knowledge into Diagnostic Skills.โ€ ๐Ÿงชโœจ

The day was structured to provide students with hands-on experience and practical exposure across various laboratory disciplines. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ

๐Ÿ”ฌ Microbiology Workshop
Focused on โ€œIntegrated Microbiology Techniques: Sterilization to Culture Methods,โ€ where students were trained in essential laboratory procedures ranging from sterilization techniques to culture handling. ๐Ÿงซ๐Ÿฆ 

๐Ÿฉธ Pathology Workshop
Conducted on โ€œPrecision in Phlebotomy: Mastering the Vacutainer Technique.โ€ This session emphasized accuracy and safety in blood collection procedures, allowing students to practice and refine their phlebotomy skills. ๐Ÿ’‰

โš—๏ธ Biochemistry Workshop
Organized in association with Erba Transasia, this โ€œKey Operator Workshop on Biochemistry Auto Analyzerโ€ provided participants with practical knowledge on the operation and handling of advanced biochemical analysis equipment. ๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿ“Š

All workshops offered valuable hands-on training, significantly enhancing the technical competencies of the students. ๐ŸŽฏ

๐ŸŽจ Poster Competition
The afternoon session featured a Poster Competition on โ€œFirst Aid in Laboratory.โ€ Students actively participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their creativity and awareness regarding laboratory safety and emergency management. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿงฏ

The inauguration of Medical Laboratory Professionals Week 2026 ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ”ฌ, organized by the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), was held on 20th April 2026 at Ishavasyam.

The program was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Shivashankara A.R., Principal of Father Muller College of Allied Health Sciences ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ. In his address, he emphasized the crucial role of medical laboratory technicians in the healthcare system ๐Ÿฅ. He encouraged students to understand their professional responsibilities, uphold accuracy and ethics in their work, and stay updated with advancements in laboratory sciences ๐Ÿ“Š to contribute effectively to patient care โค๏ธ.

The event was also honored by the presence of distinguished dignitaries ๐ŸŽ“, including Prof. Pratijna Suhasini G.R., Principal of Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences and Paramedical Sciences; Prof. Subramanya Nayak, Principal of New Mangala College of Nursing and Mangala School of Nursing; and Dr. Bharat K.H., Principal of Mangala College of Physiotherapy.

The highlights of the day included a model-making competition ๐Ÿ†, where students showcased their creativity and technical knowledge ๐Ÿ’ก. Academic sessions conducted by faculty members added significant value to the event ๐Ÿ“š. Prof. Diney Dโ€™Souza from the Department of Microbiology delivered an insightful session on โ€œExploring the Dynamics of Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseasesโ€ ๐Ÿฆ . Another informative session on โ€œDiagnostic Approach to Myeloid Leukemiaโ€ ๐Ÿฉธ was presented by Ms. Ashika Madonna Dโ€™Souza from the Department of Pathology.

The afternoon session featured a seminar competition ๐ŸŽค, which saw enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting their interest and engagement in the subject ๐Ÿ‘.

YRCS Unit of Mangala College of Allied Health and Paramedical Sciences, Organized Blood Donation camp at Mangala College campus on 7th April 2026 in association with NSS and NCC Unit.
Dr. J.N Bhat, Blood Bank Officer of Mangala Blood Centre (Storage Centre) Mangaluru,D.K. motivated students and delivered significance of blood donation.
Dr. Ganapathi P, Chairman and Dr Anitha G Bhat Vice Chairman of Mangala Group of Educational Institutions was the first donors for inaugural ceremony.
An Official Website launch Ceremony of Mangala Blood Centre was very special segment of todayโ€™s program. This Platform will help us to reach more donors, create awareness and strengthen our mission of saving lives.
Around 81 donors donated blood voluntarily for this noble cause.
