We are pleased to invite you to an insightful online workshop on Collaborative Filtering and Design and Analysis of Algorithms (DAA) subject preparation for campus interviews, organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, MIT, Manipal.

This workshop will be conducted by Abhishree Shetty, a Data and Applied Scientist at Microsoft, who brings extensive experience in the tech industry, including expertise in data science and algorithmic problem-solving. 🎉 Congratulations to Team LoopMIT on Their Outstanding Achievement at GHC 2025! 🚀

We are proud to announce that our student team, LoopMIT, has excelled at the Global Hyperloop Competition (GHC) 2025, hosted by IIT Madras from February 21st to 24th, 2025. Competing against top teams, LoopMIT secured:

🏆 1st Place - Best Pod Demonstration
🏆 1st Place - Best Mechanical Subsystem

A special mention to Edwin Sajith Ainikkal, a dedicated student from the Computer Science (CSE) department, who contributed as a part of the Electronics Team. His role in designing, testing, and integrating the electronics subsystem played a crucial part in the pod’s exceptional performance.

CSE department organized Adjunct faculty Lecture Session and Panel Discussion on topic “ Intelligent O-RAN for 5G, B5G Networks and AI in Mobile wireless Networks” on 9th September 2023 addressing nearly 160 students.

The Department organized a two-day FDP on “Blockchain Technologies And Its Applications” from 6th to 7th October 2023. The FDP focused on providing hands-on training to develop a strong grasp of core Blockchain platforms, understand what Bitcoin is and how it works, learn key concepts commonly used in Blockchain, and create an app with Ethereum. The event was coordinated by Dr. Mamatha Balachandra and Dr. Narendra V.G.

The Department organized two online lectures by Dr. Sevio Fernandes, Lead Data Scientist, PayPal, as part of the Alumni Connect program on 8th September 2023 and 6th October 2023 respectively. The lectures titled “Decision Trees” and “Data Clustering” provided insight into various types of decision trees, clustering techniques, and partitioning algorithms in data
mining. A total of 82 participants attended the one-hour lectures.

The Department, in collaboration with the Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), MAHE, and Department of Chemical Engineering, MIT Manipal, co-hosted a three-day online workshop from August 16th to 18th, 2023. The workshop's primary focus was delving into the latest strides in atomic-scale bio macromolecular modelling and the practical application of Schrodinger modules in drug design. This event drew the participation of distinguished industry professionals recognized as Schrodinger experts, with 110 participants.

The event was specifically organized for students enrolled in B.Tech. CSE (AI&ML) and those in the 5th and 3rd semesters of B.Tech. CSE programs.
