Chandigarh University stands tall with immense pride as our distinguished alumnus, Major Arshdeep Singh Gill, receives the Kirti Chakra - India's second-highest peacetime gallantry award - from the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu.

Currently serving with the 1st Battalion of the Assam Rifles, he has exemplified the finest traditions of courage and leadership that we seek to inspire in every student who walks through our gates.

In May 2025, Major Gill led a high-risk counter-insurgency operation in Manipur with exceptional precision and composure. The mission was completed flawlessly with zero casualties, reflecting both his operational expertise and his steadfast commitment to the safety of every soldier under his command.

The entire CU family extends its heartfelt congratulations to Major Arshdeep Singh Gill on this remarkable and well-deserved recognition. We salute his courage, dedication, and exemplary service to the nation.
