The Greater Mumbai Education Society

The Greater Mumbai Education Society Serving the cause of Education for more than 5 Decades The Society started the first standard of its school in 1953 with a mere 27 students on its roll.

It was back in 1952 when a group of young enlightened and very enthusiastic members, who were part of a well knit South Indian Community, settled in the suburb of Vile Parle East in Mumbai, felt the need for a school which could part education to their children which also enabled them to read and write in their mother tongue. This intent saw the formation of an education society and the formation

of the Greater Bombay Education Society. Adding one standard every year, today the institution caters to the education needs of over 2000 students ranging from L.K.G to Junior College. The classes were conducted in rented premises for a period of two years, in the first instance, after which the school was shifted to the Society's own modest ground floor structure erected on a plot acquired for the purpose. Since then thanks to the efforts and encouragement received from several well-wishers and continued guidance from the founder members, the Society has built two 3-storey buildings.
