We are the First (pioneer) institute in Mumbai to start offering a 1-year, complete Program in Professional Digital Filmmaking in the year 2007. More institutes and colleges in Mumbai have started similar courses based on course structure and syllabus laid out here. Raheja Technical Institute's 'Department of Digital Filmmaking' was so named in 2013, by replacing the original title 'Department of
Film and Television'. This came about as a policy decision to focus our course on the modern technology of motion picture making, which is digital video of various resolutions. Our motto is to shape young aspirants in to informed and experienced movie technicians who can confidently stand as bankable Assistants in various departments of film unit. Direction, Cinematography, Editing, Scriptwriting, Sound Design, and Production. It takes students through at least 6 projects in two phases- individual and group assignments. All subjects are taught by working and experienced professionals; on industry standard equipment. We have upgraded our set up thrice since inceptions. A major advantage that students taking this diploma get is direct interaction with industry professionals at various stages of the course- during regular lectures, guest lectures, short film jury sessions, and 'Projections'- our annual awards function that is based on industry ceremony format. We open the gateway for sincere students to step in to the industry for a bright career.
