The Department of Nursing Foundation, Adichunchanagiri College of Nursing, organized a Sketch Competition on the occasion of World Hand Hygiene Day on 15th May 2026 at the ACN Auditorium. The event aimed to create awareness among nursing students about the importance of hand hygiene in preventing infections and saving lives.
The theme of the competition was “Action Saves Lives”, emphasizing the significance of proper hand hygiene practices in healthcare settings and daily life.
The theme of the competition, ‘Action Saves Lives,’ highlighted the importance of practicing proper hand hygiene in daily life and healthcare settings. The event provided an opportunity for nursing students to spread awareness through meaningful sketches related to cleanliness, infection prevention, and patient safety.
The competition received enthusiastic participation from students, who showcased innovative ideas and creative talents. The programme successfully promoted awareness regarding hand hygiene and motivated students to contribute towards building a healthier society.”
Total 14 students were participated, in that Top 3 winners selected by the judges Mr. Chethan B S and Mrs. Littys from the psychiatry department

2nd place : Ms. Fathima Faby V ( 2nd Sem)
3rd place : Ms. Jinana Basheer ( 2nd Sem)
OBJECTIVES :
1. To promote awareness regarding hand hygiene.
2. To encourage creativity and artistic expression among students.
3. To inspire students to convey health messages through sketches.
4. To observe World Hand Hygiene Day meaningfully.
OUTCOMES:
• The programme successfully created awareness about hand hygiene and encouraged students to use art as a medium for health education.
• The sketches reflected innovative ideas and meaningful messages related to healthcare and public safety.
• The winners were appreciated with certificates, and all participants were encouraged for their active involvement
