Mahavir Institute of Pharmacy has earned recognition in the field of pharmaceutical research as final-year student Raksha Jadhav, along with faculty member Prof. Priyanka Thore and Principal Dr. Anil Jadhav, successfully published a review article titled “Ash Gourd in Modern Drug Delivery: Exploring Novel Formulations and its Applications” in the prestigious International Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Vol. 4, Issue 4, 2026).
The review article highlights the medicinal and therapeutic importance of Benincasa hispida (Ash Gourd), popularly known as “Kushmanda” in Ayurveda. The publication discusses the plant’s anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, and detoxifying properties along with its rich mineral content including calcium, magnesium, iron, zinc, and selenium. The article also reviews the traditional medicinal use of ash gourd in managing diabetes, liver disorders, urinary infections, chronic inflammation, and neurological conditions, while exploring its potential applications in modern pharmaceutical drug-delivery systems.
The management of Shri Mahavir Education Society congratulated Raksha Jadhav and the research team for this academic achievement. Director Dr. Priyanka Zawar appreciated their efforts and stated that such research publications reflect the institute’s commitment toward innovation, scientific excellence, and quality pharmaceutical education.
