The 10-day Higher Secondary School Teachers Transformation Program (HSSTTP) for Chemistry Teachers in Kerala concluded today. Yesterday, a Christmas celebration took place in a joyful atmosphere. The brief event was enjoyed by one and all with a Christmas cake and carol singing.

Prof. J. N. Moorthy, Director of IISER TVM, inaugurated the "Science Outreach Program: Connecting the Dots," jointly organized by the Indian Academy of Sciences and IISER Thiruvananthapuram. Prof. B. Sury, Editor-in-Chief of Resonance - Journal of Science Education also delivered opening remarks.

The Resonance Science Outreach Program, being held from December 20–23 , brings together bright undergraduates to explore the future of science education. Over the next four days, participants will engage in immersive sessions designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and scientific discovery.

The School of Earth, Environmental and Sustainability Sciences, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, in collaboration with Banaras Hindu University, organized the Post-Expedition Meeting of the International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 402, held from 6 to 9 December in Goa. The meeting also included a short field excursion to the Deccan Traps, a significant geological heritage site of India.

Participants discussed their post-expedition research findings on the sediments and rocks recovered from drilling in the Tyrrhenian Basin, and planned the next steps for research and publication.

Prof. J. N. Moorthy, Hon’ble Director of IISER Thiruvananthapuram, inaugurated the international conference “Latest Advances in Applied and Computational Mathematics (LACAM-25)” at IISER TVM today. LACAM-25 is jointly organised by the School of Mathematics, IISER Thiruvananthapuram, and the Interdisciplinary Center for Scientific Computing (IWR), University of Heidelberg, Germany.
The conference is being held from 8th to 11th December 2025 at the IISER Thiruvananthapuram campus.

This facility is a cutting-edge research infrastructure designed to support safe and high-quality studies involving pathogenic microorganisms.
