COSMOCRAT 5.0
The Bachelors’ of Business Administration (BBA) department of Don Bosco College, Panaji, hosted the fifth edition of their annual department event ‘Cosmocrat’ on 25th January 2018 from 10a.m onwards at the Don Bosco Bicentennial Hall.

The opening ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Mr. Kiran Shirsat Industrialist/ President of Kundaim Industrial Estate Association who was escorted by the Manager, Fr. Wilfred Fernandes and the Officiating Principal Cedric Silveira.

Silveira delivered the opening address where he spoke about the initial years of the BBA department and how it has flourished over the years.

Shirsat addressed the gathering by sharing his experience as an entrepreneur and how every profession holds equal importance. He stressed that one needs to identify their interests in order to have a successful future. He also touched on the importance of team building, positive thinking and how to keep oneself away from any negative thoughts in order to succeed in life.

A total of 7 colleges took part in the event which included competitions like Business Plan, Best Manager, Treasure Hunt, Business Quiz, HR Dig the Resource etc. M.E.S. College from Vasco emerged as overall winners in Cosmocrat 5.0 While Sridora Caculo College of Commerce & Management Studies were the runners up. Cosmocrat which literally translates to where young minds think globally, is in its fifth year of its inception, and certainly gives a good platform to the students in different disciplines of business management.

Tour to Mysore and Ooty
Our Department organised a week long study tour as a part of our learning to Mysore and Ooty.In Ooty we visited the Tea Museum/Factory, Government Botanical Gardens, Government Rose Gardens and the Ooty Lake while the places seen in Mysore include St.Philomena's Church , Mysore Palace, Mysore Sandal wood Factory, Silk Factory and the City's most popular attractions the Mysore zoo.It was truly a wonderful Experience.

CLEAN UP DRIVE ORGANISED BY DON BOSCO COLLEGE, PANJIM IN COLLABORATION WITH CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PANAJI (CCP)

The students (TYBBA) of Don Bosco College, Panjim in collaboration with Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) organized a Cleanliness Drive as a part of their Environment project on 16th September 2017 to mark the ‘ International Coastal Cleanup day ‘ . The Clean up drive was held at the Campal Beach which falls in Ward no. 11 with full co-operation and support of the local Corporator, Ms. Soraya Pinto Makhija.
Ms.Soraya provided the resources like gloves, garbage bags and the services of the CCP Staff. Around 150 students along with their faculty members, Manager Fr. Wilfred Fernandes and Administrator Fr. Bennett Aranjo actively participated in the drive to contribute to the prevention of global warming and garbage littering. The students were guided by the staff of CCP, Mr. Clive and Mr. Kabir Pinto Makhija, Ex-Corporator of Campal. All waste was picked up by using a pair of gloves, to ensure personal hygiene.
The efforts were acknowledged by the Mayor, Mr. Surendra Furtado, who motivated the students to conduct more cleanliness drives and keep our Goa Clean.
The main aim of the cleanup drive was to motivate people to take care of their surroundings, and show their concern towards the environment. The drive also aims to highlight the fact that not just the CCP but the common man is also responsible for keeping the environment clean .

INVESTITURE CEREMONY AT DBC

“True leaders don’t create followers, they create more leaders.” said Dr Mahesh Pai, Officiating Principal of Goa College of Home Science, Panaji in his address to the students at the Investiture Ceremony held at Don Bosco College, on 22nd July, 2017. He pointed out that being in the student council is an opportunity to acquire skills of communication, planning and organizing. He also said that they should work as a team and not allow selfish interests to blemish their integrity. Also present on the occasion were Manager Fr. Wilfred Fernandes and Officiating Principal Cedric Silveira. Fr Wilfred , urged the student leaders to be kind, compassionate and forgiving to one another. He also said that they should always work hard, learn and keep the faith. Silveira reminded the students to work unitedly with conviction and dedication for the betterment of the college.
This was followed by pinning the badges on the student leaders after which they were led into an oath administered by the Principal. The newly inducted General Secretary , Joshua Lacerda enumerated the activities planned for the year ahead. Alisha Dias , Staff Secretary read out the duties of the council members.The college newsletter ‘News and Views’ was also released on the occasion .
