Bhattadev University successfully hosted a two-day National Seminar on “Advancements of Bioscience Research for A Sustainable Future (ABRSF-2026)”. The programme was organised by the Institutional Biotech Hub, Bhattadev University, in collaboration with IQAC, and was sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
The seminar was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dhanapati Deka. The inaugural session was also honoured by the gracious presence of Prof. Manabendra Dutta Choudhury, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, Hojai.
On the first day, the keynote lecture on interdisciplinary bioscience research for a sustainable future was delivered by Prof. Arnab Sen of the University of North Bengal. Invited lectures were presented by distinguished speakers including Dr. Bipul Chandra Sarma and Prof. Kusum K. Bania of Tezpur University. A special lecture on “Modern Tools in Bioscience: From Microscopy to AI & Data Analytics” was delivered by Dr. Pankaj Bharali of CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat. Dr. Upakul Mahanta of Bhattadev University also delivered a lecture on the topic of “Biophysics: When life meets laws of nature”.
On the second day, Dr. Sanjay K. Banerjee from NIPER, Guwahati delivered the keynote lecture on bioscience research opportunities in North-East India. Dr. Manas Das of Gauhati University presented an invited lecture on biodiversity, conservation biology, and sustainable ecosystems.
