The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous, organised a programme titled “हिन्दी शब्दों की फिल्मी विरासत” under Hindi Pakhwada on 8th September 2026, for the first semester students of session 2026-28.
During the programme, clips from selected Hindi songs were played. Students actively participated in identifying Hindi words used in the songs. Dr Nitu Chauhan, Assistant Professor addressed the students and appreciated the efforts of the students. She highlighted that learning can also be through a fun activity. The programme successfully combined language learning with the cultural heritage of Hindi cinema, and helped students understand Hindi vocabulary in a meaningful and contextual manner.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th September 2026 to honour teachers and commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The programme was organised with great enthusiasm and active participation from the B.Ed. and ITEP students. The celebration began with a prayer service, featuring the soulful song “Tu Pyar Ka Sagar Hai,” setting a reflective and grateful tone for the occasion. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a tribute to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan. The programme included a variety of cultural performances. The ITEP students presented a medley song, which was warmly appreciated by everyone. Bhumika presented “Aap Ki Nazron Ne Samjha,” while Dr. Mona Kumari delighted the audience with a special rendition of “Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas.” Dance and singing performances, along with fun-filled games for both teaching and non-teaching staff, added a lively and joyful spirit to the celebration. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rashmi Sinha appreciated the sincere efforts and enthusiasm of the students. She expressed her gratitude for the thoughtful and well-organised programme and acknowledged the students’ affection and respect towards their teachers. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, delivered by Tanya Patel, Prefect, Department of Education.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous observed Anti-Ragging Week from 27th August to 2nd September 2026, in accordance with UGC guidelines. On 2nd September 2026, a seminar on “When Community Fails, Laws Step In” was organised for the B.Ed. trainees of the 2026-28 batch.
Four groups presented PPTs on different dimensions of ragging.
The first group, comprising Nupur Pathak, Anjali, Asha Soren and Samiya Ali, presented on the topic “History of Incidents of Ragging.” The second group, comprising Urvashi, Jyoti, Prerna, Deeba Ambreen, Ruchi Sinha, Priyambada, Shristi Raj and Shruti, presented on “Anti-Ragging Initiatives by UGC.” The third group presented on “Government Initiatives to Curb Ragging.” The PPT presentation was delivered by Kumari Varsha Puri, Sister Jyoti, Bhoomi and Saumya Sahay. The fourth group presented on “Psychological Analysis of Group Abusive Behaviour.” The topic was presented by Vaishnavi and Shreya Das, while the PPT was prepared by Soumya Sakshi. The presentations examined the historical, legal, governmental and psychological aspects of ragging and its impact on students.
The seminar sensitised trainees to the seriousness of ragging and the importance of legal and institutional measures in preventing it. Dr. Prabhas Ranjan, Secretary, Anti-ragging Committee, Patna Women's College, addressed the trainees and emphasised that ragging is not a harmless tradition but a serious violation of human dignity and rights.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous, observed Anti-Ragging Week from 27th August to 2nd September 2026, in accordance with the guidelines of the UGC.
On 29th August 2026, ITEP students (session 2026-30) participated in Poster Making activity on the theme “Legal Awareness and Human Values.”
The posters highlighted the importance of respecting human rights, understanding legal provisions and standing against bullying and humiliation. They creatively combined slogans, illustrations, symbols and awareness messages to convey that respect should be earned through kindness rather than fear or aggression.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous, observed Anti-Ragging Week from 27th August to 2nd September 2026, in accordance with the guidelines of the UGC.
On 29th August 2026, B. Ed. trainees (session 2026-28) participated in Slogan Writing activity on the theme “Legal Awareness and Human Values”.
The trainees enthusiastically expressed their thoughts through creative and meaningful slogans such as “Ragging is a Crime, Respect is a Right,” “Stop Ragging, Start Respecting,” “Be a Friend, Not a Bully,” “Let Kindness Lead, Let Ragging End,” and “Know Your Rights, Respect Human Values, Stop Ragging.” The slogans emphasized that dignity is a right, ragging is not a tradition, and empathy and respect are stronger than power.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous, observed Anti-Ragging Week from 27th August to 2nd September 2026, in accordance with the guidelines of the UGC.
As part of the observance, a documentary film on anti-ragging was screened on 27th August 2026, for the students of B. Ed. (session 2026-28) and ITEP (session 2026-30). After the screening the students were addressed by Dr Prabhas Ranjan, Secretary, Anti-ragging Committee, Patna Women's College. He informed the students about the policies regarding ragging that are there in the institution and about the help that would be available to them if they face any such situation.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous, organized the Freshers’ Day Celebration for the B.Ed. batch 2026-28 on 22nd August 2026. The programme, titled “Chhute Hai Aasman,” was organized to warmly welcome the new students.
The celebration began with lamp lighting, a Prayer Dance, and a Welcome Song. The highlight was the Miss Freshers’ competition, conducted through three creative rounds, “Pahli Chhap,” “Shikshak Ki Sonch”, and “Chhute Hai Aasman.” A skit titled “Education is the Matter of Heart,” a song medley “Journey of the New Beginning,” and a lively dance performance added to the festive spirit.
The programme concluded with the declaration of Miss Freshers’ 2026 and a vote of thanks. Vishveshvari was the 2nd runner-up, Jyoty Mary Hembrom was the 1st runner-up and Asha Soren was crowned as Miss Fresher 2026.

The Social Science Club of the Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous organised a celebration of the 80th Independence Day on 14th August 2026. Priya (semester 3) and Anjali (Semester I) anchored the programme.
The programme began with a documentary showcasing "India's journey of Independence and Achievements”. This was followed by a thought provoking skit titled 'Ye azaadi yuhi
nahi milli…”, which portrayed different forms of protest including 'Gen z protest’, conveying the message that the methods may change, but India always remains the ultimate motive.
Then, the 1st semester students presented a melodious patriotic song 'Chodo kal ki batein…’. The Head of the Department, Dr. Sr. M. Saroj A.C. addressed the students with her valuable message of respecting our rights and fulfilling our duties, on this Independence day.
Then 'Vote of Thanks' was delivered by Prefect Tanya Patel. The Programme concluded with the National Anthem.

The Department of Education, Patna Women's College Autonomous conducted a session on Value Lesson Plan on 6th August 2026 for third-semester B.Ed. students (2025-27), under the Pre-internship Workshop “Teacher training: Building a Strong Foundation”. Dr. Shubhra guided the trainees through the essential components and preparation of a Value Lesson Plan, with emphasis on connecting learning objectives, teaching-learning activities, and appropriate values. Practical examples helped the students understand how values can be naturally incorporated into different subjects and classroom situations.
