Dr. Sudarshan Sampatrao Bobade, Dean โ Research and Development, PCCOER, was honoured to serve as a Resource Person for the Landslide Awareness & Capacity Building Training Programme organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Sindhudurg for government officials and frontline stakeholders from all eight talukas of the district.
The programme focused on landslide risk assessment, preparedness, mitigation measures, early warning systems, emergency response, evacuation planning, and community-based disaster risk reduction, in line with the recommendations of the Geological Survey of India (GSI).
Dr. Bobade expressed his sincere gratitude to Smt. Trupti Dhodmise, IAS (District Collector & District Magistrate, Sindhudurg), Smt. Shubhangi Sathe (Additional District Magistrate, Sindhudurg), Shri Machhindra Sukate (Resident Deputy Collector & CEO, DDMA Sindhudurg), and Smt. Rajashree Samant (District Disaster Management Officer โ DDMO, Sindhudurg) for their visionary leadership and commitment towards strengthening disaster preparedness and resilience across the district.
Special appreciation was also extended to Smt. Sharada Powar (Deputy District Magistrate) and Shri Jagadish Katkar (Prantadhikari/Sub-Divisional Officer) for their valuable guidance and administrative support in the successful ex*****on of this capacity-building initiative.
PCCOER appreciates the efforts of the District Administration, DDMA Sindhudurg, Tahsildars, Talathis, Gram Sevaks, Police Patils, ASHA Workers, Anganwadi Sevikas, Revenue Officials, and other frontline functionaries for their dedication towards building safer and more resilient communities.
As a researcher and academician working in the field of disaster resilience, Dr. Bobade continues to contribute towards bridging the gap between research, policy, and field-level implementation for creating sustainable and disaster-resilient communities.
