SG Government Degree College Doongi Conducts Enrollment Drive to Promote Higher Education Among Students
As a part of the ongoing Enrollment Drive, SG Government Degree College Doongi organized an awareness and outreach campaign under the esteemed guidance of the worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Chanchal Angral, to promote higher education and encourage students to pursue college education.
The staff members visited nearby and adjoining educational institutions, including Government Girls Higher Secondary School Doongi, Government High School Doongi Keri, and Cypress Kids Scholars High School Sasalkote Doongi, with the objective of creating awareness regarding admission opportunities and the importance of continuing higher education.
During the visits, the faculty members interacted with students and motivated them to seek admission in SG Government Degree College Doongi after completing their higher secondary education. Students were also encouraged to spread awareness among their siblings, relatives, and peers regarding the opportunities available at the college.
Special emphasis was laid on guiding students who have recently passed Class 12th, informing them about the admission process, available courses, academic facilities, and the benefits of pursuing higher education.
The enrollment drive was carried out by the college staff members, namely Dr. Pratima Bhushan, Dr. Mukhtar Hussain, Dr. Mohammed Fareed, and Dr. Nishu Sharma, who actively engaged with students and highlighted the significance of higher education in shaping successful careers and responsible citizenship.

SG Government Degree College Doongi Organises Women-Led Nasha Mukht Awareness Drive and Meeting
SG Government Degree College Doongi organised a Women-Led Nasha Mukht Awareness Drive and Meeting under the esteemed guidance of the worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Chanchal Angral. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students and members of the local community regarding the alarming rise of substance abuse and its adverse impact on individuals, families, and society. The event also aimed to encourage collective social responsibility for building a healthy, disciplined, and addiction-free society.
The awareness lecture was delivered by Dr. Nishu Sharma from the Department of Hindi. In her comprehensive and thought-provoking address, she highlighted the increasing menace of drug addiction among the youth and discussed its serious physical, psychological, social, and economic consequences. She emphasised that substance abuse not only destroys the future of individuals but also weakens the moral and social fabric of society. Stressing the important role of women in social reform and awareness generation, she stated that women-led initiatives can play a transformative role in combating drug abuse at the grassroots level.
Dr. Nishu Sharma further encouraged students to adopt positive lifestyles, remain focused on education and personal development, and actively participate in awareness campaigns aimed at promoting a drug-free society. S S.G. Government Degree College Doongi Organizes Mission YUVA Awareness Lecture and Online Feedback Submission
S.G. Government Degree College Doongi organized a comprehensive awareness lecture on Mission YUVA (Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan) under the esteemed guidance and patronage of the worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Angral. The programme was conducted in accordance with the directions of the Higher Education Depart ment, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, to create awareness among students regarding entrepreneurship, skill development, self-employment opportunities, and various youth empowerment initiatives launched by the Government.
The awareness lecture was delivered by Dr. Pratima Bhushan who elaborated upon the aims and objectives of Mission YUVA and emphasized the significance of innovation, startups, and entrepreneurship in empowering youth. He informed students about various government-sponsored schemes and financial assistance programmes, including MUDRA Loans, the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), and other opportunities designed to promote self-employment and economic self-reliance.
During his address, Dr. Pratima Bhushan highlighted that the youth are the true strength of the nation and stressed the importance of transforming young job seekers into job creators through skill enhancement, entrepreneurial thinking, and active participation in government initiatives.It was informed during the programme that the registration of participating students on the Mission YUVA Portal had already been completed successfully. Following the awareness session, all attendees submitted the prescribed online feedback forms. This feedback exercise assumes particular significance, as the performance and score of institutions and districts are being evaluated at the Union Territory level on the basis of the number of feedback forms submitted.
The programme was attended by faculty members, including Dr. Mohammed Fareed, Dr. Mukhtar Hussain, Dr. Mohd Ikram, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed, and Dr. Mohd Arshaq, along with other members of the teaching and non-teaching staff. The worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Angral, appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and emphasized that such awareness programmes play a vital role in equipping students with the knowledge and confidence required to become self-reliant, innovative, and responsible citizens.

Government Degree College Doongi, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to social responsibility, community engagement, and value-based education, organized a comprehensive and highly impactful wall painting drive under the aegis of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, in conjunction with a sensitization campaign on the prevention of sexual harassment through the SHE Portal. The initiative was carried out both within the college premises and in adjoining community areas, thereby ensuring extensive outreach and meaningful public participation.
The programme was conducted under the able and visionary leadership of the Worthy Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Chanchal Angral, whose continued encouragement and administrative foresight have enabled the institution to undertake such socially significant and transformative initiatives. Her guidance has been instrumental in nurturing civic consciousness, ethical values, and participatory learning among students.
The primary objective of the wall painting drive was to generate sustained awareness regarding the harmful physical, psychological, and socio-economic consequences of substance abuse. Simultaneously, the campaign emphasized gender sensitization, the promotion of a safe and respectful environment, and awareness about the SHE Portal as an effective grievance redressal mechanism for addressing issues related to sexual harassment.

These visual messages served to reinforce the ideals of a drug-free society, women’s safety, dignity, equality, and collective social responsibility.The programme was meticulously coordinated by the NCORD Nodal Officer, Dr. Mukhtar Hussain, and the SHE Nodal Officer, Dr. Pratima Bhushan, whose concerted efforts ensured the smooth planning and successful ex*****on of the event. Government Degree College Doongi successfully organized a Road Safety Awareness Programme along with a SHE Portal Registration Drive with the objective of promoting responsible road behavior and enhancing awareness regarding safety initiatives among students. The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance and dynamic leadership of the worthy Principal, Prof. Dr. Chanchal Angral.
The event featured a comprehensive and insightful awareness lecture delivered by Dr. Mohammed Fareed, who sensitized the participants on critical aspects of road safety. In his address, he emphasized the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts, adhering to traffic regulations, avoiding over-speeding, and following proper road etiquette.
