One-Day Seerah Conference at Sir Syed Education Mission Society
On 7 February 2026, an exemplary, historic, educational Seerah Conference was organized at Sir Syed Higher Secondary School, Bharote, Rajouri. Intellectuals, writers, scholars, and social workers from the Pir Panjal region participated and described the conference as ideal, unique, and outstanding.
Scholars from three Islamic schools of thought—Deobandi, Barelvi, and Ahl-e-Hadith—participated and presented the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in a beautiful and impactful manner. Professors and scholars highlighted, in the light of the Qur’an and Hadith, those radiant aspects of the Prophet’s life that convey lessons of Tawheed (oneness of Allah), peace, unity, brotherhood, goodness, and truthfulness for all humanity.
During the conference, Qayoom Naik’s seventh book, “Bachon Ki Soghat” (A Gift for Children), was launched. This book consists of one hundred poems, is dedicated to children’s literature, and is perhaps the first book of its kind on children’s literature in the region/state. The book was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Professor Azam Sahib (Baba Ghulam Shah University), Assistant Professor Basharat Sahib, Maulana Ahsan-ul-Haq, Zafar Iqbal Naik Sahib, Dr. Khalid Rashid Mansoor Sahib, and many other scholars and intellectuals.
The Seerah Conference began with children’s recitation of the Holy Qur’an, Hamd, and Naat. About twenty children delivered excellent Seerah speeches related to various aspects of the life of the Prophet of Mercy ﷺ and also presented Arabic and English question-answer sessions. Guests and parents were deeply impressed. A large gathering encouraged the children, appreciated their talents, and awarded prizes for outstanding performance. Words of praise were offered, and teachers were congratulated.
In his address, Maulana Lal-ud-Din Hamdi Sahib stated:
> “This is the practical realization of Sir Syed’s vision—an institution where the Qur’an and science go hand in hand, where both education and religious guidance are provided, where there is no indecent activity, and whose students are playing key roles in the administration of the state.”
The scholars who addressed the conference were:
Deobandi:
Maulana Lal-ud-Din Hamdi Sahib
Maulana Muhammad Akram Sahib
Assistant Professor Basharat Hussain Sahib
Barelvi:

Ahl-e-Hadith:

Mr. Nisar Mirza Sahib

The conference was presided over by Mr. Zafar Iqbal Naik Sahib, former Principal, while the Chief Guests were Professor Azam Sahib and Dr. Khalid Rashid Mansoor Sahib, former District Leprosy Officer.
In his presidential address, Mr. Zafar Iqbal Naik Sahib praised the abilities of the children and said:
> “This is the only school where children receive both education and moral training, where girls observe hijab, board results are one hundred percent, and students of classes 10th, 11th, and 12th achieve success. Today’s Seerah speeches have not only given us peace of heart but also spiritual nourishment. With Iqbal’s poetry, patriotic songs, and excellent speeches, this institution is counted among the best schools of the district.”
The conference, which began at 10:00 a.m., concluded at 5:00 p.m. At the end, Qayoom Naik, Patron of the institution, thanked all the guests, scholars, intellectuals, writers, poets, children, and teachers who graced the conference from morning till evening. He expressed hope that these scholars would be invited again soon so that sectarian distances may gradually be transformed into friendship.
With this hope, the conference came to an end.
