Chitkara School of Planning and Architecture organized a 3-Day Hands-On Portfolio Making Workshop for B.Arch students from 24th to 26th November 2025. The workshop focused on layout techniques, content organization, graphic representation, project selection, and presentation strategies to help students create professional, visually compelling portfolios. Through demonstrations and guided exercises, participants refined their work to meet academic, internship, and industry standards. The expert mentor was Ar. Rishabh Khurana, CSPA alumnus (Batch 2009) and partner at RA+ Design Studio and Devallum, Chandigarh. His professional expertise guided students in crafting impactful portfolios reflecting clarity, creativity, and architectural thinking.

The 3-Day Hands-On Portfolio Making Workshop aligns with IIC objectives as it strengthens students’ professional readiness, design communication skills, and industry-oriented competencies. By focusing on portfolio development—a key requirement for internships, competitions, and entrepreneurial opportunities—the workshop nurtures innovation in presentation, visualization, and self-branding. Guided by an industry expert, students receive practical, skill-based learning that enhances their ability to showcase architectural projects effectively. This activity directly supports the IIC mandate of fostering creativity, skill development, and industry–academia engagement, thereby contributing to students’ overall professional and entrepreneurial growth.

Chitkara University’s NewGen IEDC (DST-Sponsored Centre) successfully conducted its 7th Advisory Board & Progress Review Meeting on 14th November 2025 to assess and strengthen student-led innovation projects.

Convened by Dr. Sagar Juneja, the meeting brought together DST scientists and advisory board members, who reviewed the remarkable progress achieved by student innovators — including 101 projects supported, 16 start-ups incubated, 10 products commercialized, and 64 patents filed with 35 granted.

Students presented their ideas and working prototypes, receiving expert mentoring, feedback, and guidance for future development and commercialization. The Board also approved 20 new student projects for NewGen IEDC funding support.

The interaction fostered meaningful knowledge exchange and entrepreneurial learning. Advisory members appreciated the outcomes of the centre’s initiatives, which include nearly 150 capacity-building events for innovation and entrepreneurship development.

The meeting concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Amit Mittal, Pro-VC (Research), Chitkara University, Punjab, reaffirming the university’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant startup and innovation ecosystem.

CEED successfully organized an insightful expert session titled “The Economics of Winning Startups” featuring Mr. Manish Verma, Founder & Partner – Angel Blue Holdings. The session provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the financial drivers behind successful startups, including revenue models, cost structures, pricing strategies, unit economics, burn-rate management, and profitability planning.

Through practical frameworks and real-world examples, participants learned how to analyze margins, scalability, and financial sustainability in competitive markets, equipping them to evaluate venture viability and investment readiness.

Aligned with IIC objectives, the activity strengthened knowledge of the economic foundations of innovation-led entrepreneurship, supported business validation, and prepared students for investor-ready entrepreneurial journeys focused on building sustainable ventures.
