On 19 May, 2026 (Tuesday), an expert lecture was organised at Swift Institute of Nursing, Rajpura, where Ex. Officiating Principal, NINE,PGIMER, Dr Karobi Das, was invited as the esteemed resource person. The programme commenced with a warm floral welcome of the guest speaker by Dr Neerja Shukla, who presented a bouquet as a token of respect and honour on behalf of the institution.
Dr Karobi Dass addressed the audience with a highly insightful and informative lecture on psychological assessment and mental health evaluation. She explained the importance of psychological assessment in understanding behaviour, personality traits, intelligence, emotional wellbeing, and cognitive functioning of an individual. During the session, she elaborated on various psychological assessment tests such as the Rorschach Inkblot Test, Stanford–Binet Intelligence Scales, Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, intelligence quotient (IQ) tests, and power tests. She explained the uses, interpretation, and significance of these tests in identifying personality patterns, emotional status, intelligence levels, reasoning ability, and problem-solving capacity of individuals.
She further highlighted the role of psychological testing in diagnosis, counselling, patient assessment, mental healthcare management, and nursing practice. Through practical examples and interactive discussion, she made the session highly engaging and beneficial for the students and faculty members.
In the end, the students also became aware of their IQ scores through a standardized intelligence test conducted during the session. The activity provided them with practical exposure to psychological assessment and helped them understand their intellectual abilities and cognitive skills. Students enthusiastically participated in the assessment and found the activity highly informative and interesting.
The programme concluded with the presentation of a Guest of Honour to Dr Karobi Dass as a token of gratitude and appreciation for her valuable presence and enlightening lecture.
