Vesak or Buddha Jayanti, also known as Buddha Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of Vaisakha as per the vikram samvat calendar, which is why it is also called Vesak.
Buddha Purnima is a day of reflection and introversion for Buddhists, as they remember the life and teachings of the Buddha and strive to follow his path of compassion, wisdom, and peace. It is an occasion to renew one's commitment to the practice of the Dharma. This festival is known to deepen one's understanding of the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, and other core teachings of Buddhism. Many people also perform acts of charity and kindness as a way of expressing their gratitude for the teachings of the Lord Buddha.
On this auspicious occasion, The Training and Placement Cell, NIT Sikkim wishes you all a Happy Buddha Purnima, and may the life of Buddha become an inspiration for us to become more focused in our life as Lord Buddha.

Holi is the majestic festival of colours, spring season and even love, celebrated in remembrance of the eternal and divine love of Radha Krishna. It is accentuated with another profound meaning, for it embodies the triumph of good over evil, as it commemorates the victory of the god Vishnu as Narasimha Narayana over Hiranyakashipu, due to which it's rejoiced throughout India and the world with utmost joy and enthusiasm. The throwing and playing of colours is merely a route to dismiss the barriers and unite people of all backgrounds in a shared festivity of life and love.

Exceeding its symbolic and cultural importance, Holi is an immense amount of fun. The festival is a great moment to let loose and enjoy life, to dance and sing, and laugh with friends and family. It is a time to indulge in mouth watering sweets and savouries, play games and tell stories, and revel in the joy and beauty of the world.

Training and Placement Cell, NIT Sikkim wishes that your life gets splashed with all the hues of colours of pleasure and delight on this fantastic festival.

Indian culture is adorned with myriad festivals that praise diverse aspects of life. Saraswati Puja is a great festival of our nation, held to worship Goddess Saraswati, one of the great seven goddesses of Hinduism, eminent for art, learning, and music. Republic Day, one of India's most anticipated days, celebrates all the length and breadth of the country. This is the day when our constitution first came into effect as the governing document of India. The day when Dr. Rajendra Prasad began his first term as the first president of this beautiful and great nation, the constituent assembly became the parliament of India.
Republic Day reminds us a lot about our freedom fighters struggle and therefore, as a citizen of this country, it is our duty to commemorate our freedom fighters, great leaders and the struggle faced by them due to which we are living in a happy and peaceful environment. We all should remember that our nation is standing as a great nation due to our unbroken patriotism and unity, realising "Unity in diversity".
Training and Placement Cell, NIT Sikkim wishes you all a Happy 73rd Republic Day.
