The world around us is witnessing rapid change in various fields and Management Education is no exception. In order to be Future ready, Management education in India has to be able to anticipate the future and carve out appropriate strategies and programmes, to enable students to be able to meet the challenges of tomorrow. The objective , therefore in our view is not only to benchmark with the “ B

est in Class” but indeed be able to “Next Mark”. Over the years GIM has earned the enviable reputation of being one of the finest Management Schools in the country. Most B-School surveys have given the Institute top marks in terms of Placement record, Quality of Education, Enabling Infrastructure, Efforts at Globalisation etc. Through the AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) the Indian Government has granted accreditation to GIM and the programmes that it conducts. This ensures that the quality of education is not compromised in any way. The environment at GIM ensures high quality of learning. Through its rigorous admissions process, which is transparent and based solely on merit, the Institute ensures that the student community is committed to the learning process . The Institute imparts sound values to enable its students to become effective and good leaders. The infrastructure which is being constantly upgraded ensures a comfortable working environment. The library, which is the heart of any institution, gets the maximum priority. Goa, with its natural God given beauty, in no small measure adds to this wonderful learning experience. GIM boasts of some of the finest Inhouse and Visiting Faculty. The curriculum is regularly evaluated and upgraded to make the students future ready. The Visiting Faculty ensures relevant Industry cases to be brought into the classroom. Collaborate Research enables Faculty to keep pace with the changes in Management education. Industry interaction is encouraged through Management Development programmes, an Executive MBA program and Consultancy. All this finally benefits the students who pass out from GIM. The Board of Governors consists of eminent Academicians, Industry Professionals and Government Officials who guide the Institute through regular Board meetings. The Government of Goa also lends support to the Institute in various ways. The Institute is committed to the process of globalization by maintaining appropriate international linkages and Exchange Programs. This will get greatly enhanced in the next few years.

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently conducted its ‘Staff Retreat’, bringing together faculty and staff members for a day centred around reflection, engagement, and shared experiences beyond the workplace.

The retreat was attended by Prof. Ajit Parulekar (), Director, GIM, Mr Jelani Mohammed, Registrar, GIM, and Prof. D N Venkatesh, Dean Academics, GIM, along with members of the GIM community. The gathering created opportunities for interaction, collaboration, and strengthening connections across the institute.

The initiative reflected GIM’s continued emphasis on building an inclusive and connected institutional culture, recognising the importance of collaboration and shared experiences within the community.

Goa Institute of Management (GIM), through its Library and Information Centre, in association with the Directorate of Higher Education, Goa, successfully conducted the three-day National Level Librarian Development Program (LDP) on ‘Empowering Librarians for the Digital, Data-Driven, and Sustainable Knowledge Ecosystem’.

The programme brought together library and information science professionals, researchers, and educators for discussions on digital transformation, AI-driven library services, research data management, sustainability, leadership, user experience, and scholarly communication. The sessions were delivered by Dr M V Sunil, Assistant Professor, SDMIMD Mysore, Dr M Vijayakumara, University Librarian, Pondicherry University, Dr Shamprasad M Pujar, Chief Librarian, IGIDR Mumbai, Dr Iranna M Shettar, Deputy Librarian, National Institute of Technology Warangal, Dr Parthasarathi Mukhopadhyay, Professor and Head, Library and Information Science, Kalyani University, Dr B T Sampath Kumar, Senior Professor, Tumkur University, Dr Dhanwantari Prakash Tripathi, Deputy Librarian, National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, Dr Gopakumar V, Head, Knowledge Centre, Kerala University of Digital Sciences, Innovation and Technology, Dr T S Kumbar, Advisor (Library & Institute Archives), Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, Dr Appasaheb Naikal, Librarian, Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, Dr M Sadik Batcha, Senior Professor, Annamalai University, and Dr (Mrs.) Rashmi T Kumbar, Librarian, Dhirubhai Ambani University.

The programme was organised under the guidance of Prof. Ajit Parulekar (), Director, GIM, Mr Jelani Mohammed, Registrar and Controller of Examinations, GIM, and Dr Takappa R, Chief Librarian, GIM, with support from the advisory board comprising Dr Sandesh Dessai, Dr Keshav Dhuri, Dr Bala Mandrekar, Dr Jayaprakash Hugar, Dr Maya Carvalho, and Mr Kush Mohan Sibbu. The initiative reflected GIM’s continued commitment to academic collaboration, knowledge sharing, and future-ready learning ecosystems.

Vinidhan – The Student Investment Fund of Goa Institute of Management (GIM) presents its ‘Annual Report’ FY26, capturing a year of resilient investing, strategic portfolio management, and student-led market analysis. Despite volatile market conditions, Vinidhan outperformed benchmark indices with stronger downside protection and a diversified investment approach.

This year’s report highlights Vinidhan’s focus on ESG investing, quant-backed strategies, and long-term wealth creation, with key allocations across FMCG, BFSI, IT, Energy, Pharma, and Infrastructure sectors. The fund also continued strengthening its commitment towards sustainable and responsible investing.

The report further offers deep insights into India’s macroeconomic outlook, sectoral trends, and detailed analyses of companies such as ICICI Bank, Tata Consumer, Marico, TCS, Dr. Reddy’s, Trent, and Tata Power, reflecting the analytical rigour and investment philosophy driving Vinidhan forward.

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) is pleased to share that Prof. Kingshuk Sarkar, Professor and Area Chair, General Management and Public Policy, GIM, was featured on ‘In Focus-Parley’ by The Hindu () for a discussion on ‘Has a weakening of unionisation hurt workers?’

The conversation explored the impact of deunionisation on workers, particularly in the context of wage concerns, contractualisation, labour rights, and the changing nature of employment across sectors. The discussion also examined the broader implications of weakening collective bargaining structures within India’s evolving labour landscape.
