We are thrilled to share Dr Debankur Saha, Assistant Professor, Marketing, Area Chair - Marketing, IFMR GSB has recently published a paper titled, The Call of the Wild: What Draws Birdwatching Tourists to Eco-Avitourism? (co-authored with Professor Anirban Chakraborty, IIM Lucknow), in Current Issues in Tourism (ABDC–A / Scopus–Q1, Impact factor - 4.6, Cite Score - 15.5).

The study explores the motivations and behaviours of birdwatching tourists within the ecotourism framework, offering insights that can guide policymakers and planners in designing conservation-focused, responsible tourism experiences.

📰 Dr Govindapuram Suresh presented a paper on Women's Financial Inclusion and Economic Development: Evidence from India at the 23rd Annual Conference and 30th Anniversary of the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies, on 22-25 July 2025 at Luxembourg.

📰 On her recent official visit to Colombo Dr Proma Raychaudhury, Assistant Professor, Politics, SIAS represented Krea University at the 2025 Scales of Governance Conference (jointly organised by the Bandaranaike Academy for Leadership and Public Policy (BALPP), Colombo, and Sciences Po, Paris, a partner university of Krea. At the conference. Dr Raychaudhury presented a paper titled, 'Sub-nationalism and (Gendered) Social Welfare Regimes: A Study of West Bengal under the All-India Trinamool Congress Government'.
🔊 Dr Sabah Siddiqui presented a paper at the IACS 2025 Conference in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand on July 24, 2025. The paper was titled 'Faith Healing and Distributed Subjectivity'. Dr Siddiqui also wrote a commentary piece on the Anti-Superstition Law titled 'Superstition, Science, and the limits of Law' that was featured by 'Mad in South Asia' Expert Opinions blog. 📰 Dr Praveen Bhagawan Professor, Finance, Accounting and Quantitative Finance, IFMR GSB presented one of his research papers (co-authored with Dr Jyoti Prasad Mukhopadhyay, Associate Professor, Economics, IFMR GSB and Navya Muricken, faculty member at ICFAI Business School, Bangalore) ‘Does Female Presence on Corporate Boards matter for Firm`s Cost of Equity? Evidence from Indian Firms’ at the 2025 Vietnam Symposium in Entrepreneurship, Finance, and Innovation (VSEFI2025), held in Hanoi, Vietnam.

📰 Dr Bhagawan also presented another research paper (co-authored with Dr Jyoti Prasad Mukhopadhyay, Associate Professor, Economics, IFMR GSB and PhD scholar Soumyabrata Basu ) titled ‘Creditor Rights and Tax Avoidance: Evidence from Quasi-natural Experiment in India’ at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC). After the presentation, he also interacted with PhD students of IIMC and provided feedback on their papers.

📰 Dr Jyoti Prasad Mukhopadhyay and PhD scholar Soumyabrata Basu presented their research paper (co-authored with Dr Praveen Bhagawan) related to the impact of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code on Indian non-financial firms at the 7th International Conference on Financial Markets & Corporate Finance (ICFMCF 2025) held at IIT Kharagpur and the 34th European Financial Management Association 2025 Annual Meeting held at the American College of Greece, respectively.

🔊 ​Professor Chandrasekaran Nagarajan was a speaker at Annual Regional Director's Conclave 2025 organised by Institute of Directors. He spoke on the discussion topic, Imp​act Assessment: The Backbone of CSR Accountability.

⭐ From 16 to 21 June 16 2025, Dr Sarabjeet Dhody Natesan participated in the Levy Economics Institute’s Summer Seminar at Bard College, New York.
