Serchhip College, an outcome of the joint venture between the people of Serchhip and Chhiahtlang was established on 25th August, 1973. The End Semester Examination for the Odd Semester of the Academic Session 2025–2026 was conducted successfully at the college for the BCA, B.Sc., and B.A. students under Mizoram University. The examinations were held smoothly from 4th November 2025 to 18th December 2025 under the supervision and coordination of the Examination Committee of GSC. Strict adherence to the guidelines of Mizoram University ensured the fair, transparent, and orderly conduct of the examinations. The dedicated efforts of the Examination Committee, faculty members, and supporting staff played a crucial role in the efficient and disciplined ex*****on of the entire examination process.

A Slogan Making Competition was jointly organized by the Winter Fest Organizing Committee and the Serchhip District Legal Services Authority on the theme “Art Against Drug Addiction: A Brush for a Better Tomorrow.”
A total of 20 entries were received. All entries were exhibited during the two-day 4th Winter Fest-cum-Cultural Fest held at Government Serchhip College.
Result of the Competition:
1st Prize: Lalruattluangi, 3rd Semester BA
2nd Prize: Zothanpuii, 3rd Semester BSc
3rd Prize: Lalchhanhimi, 3rd Semester BA
Consolation Prizes were awarded to the following five participants:
Vanlalthlamuanpuii, Remsangpuii, Lalrohlupuii, Malsawmdawngzuali, and Ruthi Malsawmtluangi.
The organizing team heartily congratulates all the winners and extends sincere thanks to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement. The competition served as a meaningful reminder of the harmful effects of drug abuse and aimed to create greater awareness among the public.

The committee is deeply thankful to the Serchhip District Legal Services Authority for sponsoring the competition and extending their valuable support, which played a crucial role in the successful conduct of the event.
The prizes were distributed by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, Pu Lalduhoma, during the inauguration of the Fest on 17th Dec 2025, while the consolation prizes were presented by Pi Josangzeli Tlau, Judicial Magistrate of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).

A condolence meeting was held on 31st October, 2025 to pay heartfelt tribute to the departed souls of Saithanzuali Fanai (7 Months) , beloved daughter of Miss Lalremruati Tlau, Department of Economics, who passed away on 13th September, 2025 at 3:45 a.m., and Pu Lianmawia (87 years), beloved father of Dr. Lalremsiami Hrahsel, Department of Botany, who passed away on 3rd October, 2025 at 8:10 p.m.

Faculty members and staff assembled to honour the departed through a brief prayer service and messages of remembrance. The college extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved families and prays that God’s comfort and presence remain with them.

World Mental Health Day was observed at Government Serchhip College on 10th October 2025 with a Marathon Race jointly organized by the NSS Unit and the Mental Health Committee of the college. As the date coincided with the College Annual Sports Week, the marathon was conducted as an inter-house competition among students.

The race track began at the College campus, proceeded through P&E and the AOC route, and concluded back at the campus. The event started at 6:00 AM and saw enthusiastic participation from both boys and girls across various semesters. The winners are as follows:

Report on 12th Mizoram State Anti-To***co Day 2025 and Launching of To***co-Free Youth Campaign 3.0

The 12th Mizoram State Anti-To***co Day 2025 and the launching of the To***co-Free Youth Campaign 3.0 were organized by the National To***co Control Program (NTCP) and the Drug Awareness Club on 31st October 2025 at Government Serchhip College, Block B, with the theme “To***co-Free Lifestyle.”

The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Lalrinzuala, Addl.DC, and the Chairman was Dr. Lalrosanga, Assistant Professor and In-charge, Drug Awareness Club, GSC.

The program began with a welcome speech by Dr. Lalrosanga. After that, Mr. Lalrempuia, Social Worker, NTCP, presented the NTCP report. He explained the goals of the To***co-Free Youth Campaign 3.0 and shared the progress report from January to September 2025.

Next, the Chief Guest, Mr. Lalrinzuala, gave a speech and officially launched the To***co-Free Youth Campaign 3.0. He said that discipline is important and that good friends and surroundings can change our lives. He also spoke about freedom, saying that being free doesn’t mean doing everything we want. He shared a Bible verse from 1 Corinthians 6:12: “All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful.” He reminded everyone that when we are born poor, it is not our fault, but if we die poor, it is our fault, encouraging all to work hard and live with discipline.

The theme speech was delivered by Dr. Lallawmkimi Chhakchhuak, DNO, NTCP. She reminded everyone that to***co is a poison. After the speech, Ms. Maria V.L. Neihhlui, Counsellor, NTCP, led the “Say No to To***co” pledge, which was repeated by everyone present at the program.

Finally, the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mr. Lalramnghaka Kawlni, DEO, NTCP.
After the program, everyone enjoyed special and delicious refreshments.

On 30th October 2025, at 10:30 AM, the NSS Unit, Department of Zoology, and Wildlife Protection Club of Government Serchhip College jointly organized a One-Day National Seminar on "Systematic and documentation of Bats.”

The Resource Person, Dr. Uttam Saikia, Scientist-D, Zoological Survey of India, Shillong, delivered an insightful and informative lecture on bats, highlighting their ecological significance and diversity.

The programme was chaired by Dr. C. Vanlalnghaka, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, and In-charge of the Wildlife Protection Club. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. S. Beihrosa, Programme Officer, NSS Unit, Government Serchhip College.

A total of 45 students, along with two Programme Officers and faculty members, actively participated in the seminar.

A Feedback Orientation Programme for the I and III Semester students was organized by the Feedback Committee on 23rd October 2025 from 10:10 am at B201, Academic Block. The purpose of the programme was to familiarize students with the importance of providing constructive feedback and to guide them on how to effectively fill out the institutional feedback forms. During the session, the objectives and procedures of the feedback system were clearly explained, emphasizing its role in enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and overall academic experience.
